I expected Kill la Kill to get a 10k+ first week, I suppose I was wrong.

Putting that aside, I put up the new v2 drops for Spring 2014. Love Live! had a huge boost, its now estimated at 76k+ on stalker, if this goes on, it has a chance at becoming the best selling volume of the 21st century.

Wixoss is also still doing rather strong, I'd say it has a chance at reaching 10k. Those custom decks sure are powerful extras.

Both versions(amazon and non-amazon) of JoJo are up on amazon now, and as expected, its performing rather good. If this doesn't reach 10k, i'll eat my non-existent hat.

Gochuisa and Haikyuu!! also had some improvements in their rankings, both went up by roughly 15-20%.

This week looks to be moderately busy, The Persona 3 movie will come out and its estimated around 30k, But aside from that movie and Hoozuki v3, we won't have anything reach 10k+ next week. Mikakunin de Shinkoukei v3 will probably get a 5k+ first week, the GJ-BU@ OVA will also come out on BD, and it might reach 5k. As for the other series released this week, aside from Yowamushi Pedal v6, they will probably all sell less than 4k.

Speaking of which; wasn't Madoka's first volume the best selling one? Hard to believe that the idols can beat that.

SnK is a close 2nd, I believe(83.7k).

But depending on how well Love Love keeps ranking, it might just do that. But I wouldn't bet on it. I'm just saying that its possible. But if keeps rankings like it did last week, and stalker is accurate, it'll have a 76.9k first week. Which will be more than enough to push it over 84k(bakamono v4) with it following weeks.

But the chances of that are rather low, but unlike the huge majority of anime, it does have a chance. However small it may be.

Too bad, looks like the lack of a Mobile Game code hurt the LoveLive!2 ED's sales. Still good sales though, they've raised the level from last season's 25K level.

And the Best Live album still selling!

It depends on how accurate the prediction is, but we must not forget how strong all the BDs are at Animate, HMV (partly), gamers, softmap, and Toranoana. With the concert being at the SSA, which has a maximum seating of 37k, and runs for 2 days... we could see sales above 74k if people think they need a better chance in the ticket lottery. Some also will buy the Vol.1 purely for the mobage UR card bundled with it, and also it being cheaper due to only having 1 episode in it as well.

Even if Love Live S2 V1 sells >80K it's not that huge of an achievement since V2 onwards will be selling a lot less, so Love Live has zero chances of hitting Bakemonogatari/Madoka numbers for all volumes. Kind of sad for V1 to sell this well anyway since ep 1 is blatantly the weakest episode of the season and I don't understand why otakus aren't snapping up the later volumes instead.

Like has been mentioned already in this thread, it has an even ticket.

Pretty much everything has an event ticket these days, so is that even worth mentioning anymore?

More than half the series do not.

Not much on the BD and DVD front I'm happy is selling well other than Kuroshitsuji. Still surprised KLK can sell that many.

CD Single
*4. 29,820 *29,820 Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei OP "Rising Hope" by LiSA
22. *2,896 *17,359 Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders OP "STAND PROUD" by Jin Hashimoto
57. *1,005 *11,481 Akuma no Riddle OP "Soushou Innocence" by Maaya Uchida
65. **,871 **4,133 Kenzen Robo Daimidaler OP "Kenzen Robo Daimidaler" by Endohkai
95. **,487 **2,902 Hitsugi no Chaika OP "DARAKENA" by Iori Nomizu

Strong first week sales for LiSA's Rising Hope. Good to see the others ranking again. Those are the best OPs of the season for me.

Bakemonogatari vol 4 has the record for bestselling TV anime volume of the century so far with 83967 to Madoka vol 1's 80089

I don't understand why 80,000 people would buy something like Bakemonogatari and some other examples of best selling anime from that era I'd never consider buying let alone even consider watchable but that market still does things like that and latches on to the strangest things so it is what it is. Love Live wouldn't be the first show to use an event ticket to try to boost sales either, as I understand it it's kind of an expected tactic for a lot of shows now to offer that extra incentive.

Is it really that hard to understand why people will buy something you dont like? No that is wrong, WHO are you to even think that what you like should be what others should like to?

Are rankings more important or actual sales? Noragami's 2.7k isn't really that great..... but it ranked in top 10.....

Welp there goes Love Live s2 V1's chances of being the best selling vol ever, apparently they are closing preorders on 14th May as they can't meet demand.

They can just open it again if they have resources ready again. It might surpass Nise or SEED average if they can keep the v1 preorders open.

They did this for every Season 1 volume as well, with having a storefront reservation date to ensure that the buyer will receive the benefits of the Limited Edition. It is nothing new. They didn't stop pre orders on Amazon JP after the storefront reservation date passed.

All this talk about Love Live being a real Bakemonogatari Killer have got me excited. Yay, an anime I like can potentially be the best-selling (or at least top 5?) series of the 21st century!

They would be incredibly stupid to actually not have enough stock to meet 70k orders, considering the OVA sold over 54k and the CD sales after the anime were consistently hanging around 25k. Sky's the limit!

Only v1, it has no chance of reaching the average of bakamono.

Shingeki v1 is only a few hundred copies away from outselling Nadeko Snake, but the other volumes' gaps caused it to only average 50k. 20k lower than Bake average.
Love Live has a chance of outselling Snake but I'm not so sure if it can reach Bake average. Maybe Nisemonogatari or SEED because the pre-orders aren't slowing down despite the block by Bandai/Sunrise.
I just don't want this to be the next utapri2 where the drop because there's no event tickets on other volumes has caused it to drop from 60k to 35k.

Going by stalker, it will have a huge drop. Even if love live keeps it current amazon ranking until release, and it has a +25% storefront affect, it still won't even reach a 50k average.

To go into it a bit deeper, lets assume it'll keep its current ranking, and 90% of its sales are within its first week.

Without a storefront affect,

v1 - 104.8k
v2-7 - 23.5k
Average - 35.1k

With a storefront affect(on average p/volume, it will vary from volume to volme),

10% - 38.6k
20% - 42.1k
50% - 52.6k(It will beat SnK at this point).
80% - 63.2k(Nobody will expect these kind of storefront affects, and its still far below Bakamono)
125% - 79.0k
