I dont think any active forum even exists that doesn't have a hater or 2 on it day in, day out... MAL has like 1 million accounts created so the butthurt must be strong too.

Hell, maybe they even get paid to do it

Not only is the site loading slowly, but I have another issue: trying to load my own list makes the site show me the raw PHP code instead of executing it. What's wrong?

Same here.

Ditto to that except it shows up randomly at clubs or profiles as well and when I tried to log in earlier.
Glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing problems.

I'm now completely locked out of the site on Firefox. I had the same issues as everyone else - but now I can't even get to the site, Incapsula blocks me. I assumed I may have somehow gotten into a botnet that's DDOS'ing the site, but all my scans are clean.

I don't see why it's working on Chrome though, but hopefully it keeps doing so.

Most of hater types aren't usually this obnoxiously vindictive. But I figured it was something like that.

I've been having a bit of trouble logging in. every time I would try to log in, the page would freeze for 30 seconds.. and then a long list of source code/programming mumbo jumbo would pop up.

what I did to fix this was click on a random person's profile and try to send them a message. this would bring me to a not-broken log in page.

From my understanding, we are no longer being DDOS'd like I stated back in October. The problem is related to the number of users using the site at one time. When the number of active users increases beyond 5000, the site (or rather the site via Incapsula) has difficulties loading properly. You can see the number of active users here. With everyone on vacation due to the winter break, we are now surpassing this number on a nightly basis for a much larger time period than the few hours on weekends we saw in Nov/Dec.

I notified Xinil before the holidays that this would become an even larger problem with everyone off work/school, but it seems Crave was unable to do anything about it before taking their holidays. Unfortunately, this means we need to wait it out until early January - when everyone's holidays are over.

Traffic already seems to pick up at about 9-10am PST and holds steady until at least 4-5pm PST. If you find MAL loading terribly slow, or not loading at all, it's best to stay off of the site for while.

I apologise for the inconvenience.

This, but the opposite. I can't use on Chrome but can on FF/IE.

Kineta, may I ask on how many (and how capable) computers do the MAL servers run on?
I want to get the general idea whether is it the Incapsula's fault, or the hosting that could be done better.
Regardless, thanks for informing us, it's appreciated.

That's what I assumed and explains why my hourly cronjob that accesses MAL only when new data is needed to be fetched gets so much empty pages back since 21st. (yes, it's [should be] whitelisted [for months])
http://uppix.com/f-cron52c191b20014fc52.jpg <- in GMT; all empty pages
Kinda annoying, though.
Considering the amount of accounts on MAL 5000 sounds ridiculously low to make such difficulties (returning raw php), to be honest.

If I am not mistaken that is roughly around 6pm to 3am in Europe. Seems about right for the most times.

Exactly, hence why I asked about the site/server running in my previous post.
MAL does not offer some sort of streaming to push such heaviness onto it. It's basically a database with a lot of text and pictures, for which 5000 members surfing at one point shouldn't be too much. Far from that.

On short, 5000 members surfing is nothing if we look at the services that MAL offers. That makes it weird for the site going slow at that number already.

For that you have to wait for your list to be fully loaded. Check the bar up top, unless it's fully loaded it won't pop up the thing to go to the episode discussion and you can't click "Edit" or "More".

According to Kineta's post, we have to wait for Crave to do something about it. And they take every holiday off and we still need the new PM system, auto updating signatures back, the whitelist and BBcode re enabled, etc. So give them a couple of years.

Same, it's really annoying... It's pretty much my only concern. I readed up there that we have to wait for the page to be fully loaded, but it seem like it never stop loading, even when I go in watching tab.

That's what I though too. I heard rumor that the admin often do pretty much nothing.

I don't want to sound like an asshole, I know that I don't pay a crap to use that site and I'm grateful for that. But when it come that I lose almost half the time of an anime episode to comment on the last one I saw, it just make me feel that I'm losing so much time.

Instead of trying to load your whole list, stick with just the watching section. It's smaller and thus takes way less time.

wtf is this I get this nonstop right now whenever I try to load ANY page on MAL. Or if not it never finishes loading.
