A great episode once again. Was funny how a 3 year old Polnareff outsmarted him lol. And I knew Jotaro'd kick his ass even when he turned 7. :D

Can't wait for the D'Arby episodes. All the fights are really good from here on out (with the exception of Pet Shop, maybe).

That Bro moment was too much.

I about lost it when Polnareff kicked poop at Alessi. That's using the old noggin, more or less... Also the bit at the end when the woman came up to talk to him, and the scene that followed were surprisingly touching...

Great second half that more than made up for the somewhat underwhelming first ep. They nailed just about everything. No Shooting DIO was very weird though... I'm hoping to see it at the beginning of the next episode.

I bet this has to hurt like hell:

Pretty fun episode to watch especially with a mini Polnareff. Found it amusing how much he spent on-screen naked as well as a kid lol

Glad to see him kicking ass and turned back to normal though.

I really am kind of confused, I mean in Japan you HAVE to normally cencor that part of the body...does that not apply to kids lol??

No, it doesn't apply to kids. Japanese culture has a much bigger differentiation between nudity and sex than Western culture does. They don't censor genitalia of children because they consider it non-sexual.

Actually the depiction of Polnareff's baby dick (and other anime that show baby dick) is considered censored because it doesn't depict detail. Thus, it is partially censored, in accordance with Article 175 of the Japanese Penal Code. It's the same as in porn where the dick is blurred out or hentai where there are black strips over genitalia (male or female). It seems ridiculous, but hey, at least they aren't completely bound by censorship like many other countries. As a bonus female breasts aren't considered genitalia and can be freely shown, but since the 80s anime TV series have strayed from that for whatever reason. Now it's usually touted as a home video release feature, but I imagine there are reasons for it deeper than that.

Ah, I never knew that was the reason for the lack of detail. That's interesting. Japan has some strange censorship laws lol.

Stand user is lame but the stand itself is no joke. Turning someone into fetus? That`s almost same as killing someone.

If only Alessi had been cunning as Mariah… All he had to do was plan ahead to let Set`s shadow touch Jotaro or Polnareff just a FEW SECONDS longer so that they would turn into fetus. At the very least, he could have REPEATEDLY touched Jotaro or Polnareff so that they would turn into newborn babies.

The Jotaro knocking out the stand user was total bullshit. He was what 7? You really think a 7 year old is going to knock out a man with muscles and send him flying with a punch like that?

Smh. Disappointing episode.

And yet you have HxH and Kingdom in your favourites, where kids one-up adults regularly. Here it is done once for comedy purposes and it's bad?

Once again, an intimidating Stand done in by the arrogance (or in this case idiocy) of its user. That bit with the lady always makes me feel bad for Polnareff too.

Let's see how the gambler measures up in this adaptation. It it has to be at least a good episode.

It didn't help that the English releases I was reading were so ridiculously slow at that point so I was waiting for ages to get that volume (didn't know about scans back in those innocent times).

Polnareff is just great. He can be a jerk sometimes, but in general he's a great character which this episode just confirmed to us.
Jotaro kicks ass even as 7-years old.I just knew that would happen xD

Dat reference to the Shining... xD

The best tactic to beat an immature man? Throw him some poop.
It was so obvious too that young Jotaro would still be a strong badass. Just look how he was chilling while there was a crazy fucker with an axe.

That was rude Polnareff... I didn't understood your trick until you explained it, too :P
And it was fucking clever.

This is a very entertaining "flavor of the week" anime so far. Everything's great but the substance of the story I suppose. Comedy, action, music. etc is pretty on point but it still just feels like villain of the wee 30 something episodes in. Might be my least favorite of the 3 arcs of the anime so far (haven't read the manga) but still great.

Also anyone else feel even though it was awesome to see kid Polnareff and Jotaro that there was a sort of missed opportunity not having Polnaref and Jotaro fight Bastet and Joseph and Avdol fight Alessi if only for the possibility of seeing young, Battle Tendency-era Joseph make a temporary return? Still enjoyed the Bastet and Alessi stuff as is but to this point Joseph Joestar is still my favorite MC in Jojo and would've loved to see him temporarily return to "prime form" so to speak for old time's sake.

It's funny...

In a gameboy Jojo's RPG, young Joseph does fight Alessi in this part.

To borrow a jingle from another JoJo-based forum thread:

"Pol-na-reff's an average kid that no one understands
Jo-and-Jo and Dio always giving him commands

'MUDA, twerp!'

Doom and gloom up in his room is broken instantly
By his magic swordsman dude that grants his every strike
Cause in re-al-ity he is a STAND User, Tarot Stand User

'Fists and Foils'
'Splashy Emerald Coils' ORA!"

Yeah, watching kid Polnareff running around naked pursued by a sadist, with a foetus in his arms, I was like "this is bizarre". But I'm enjoying the show a lot more since somebody intelligently reminded me that bizarre is in the title.

Well to be fair poop and toilets often appear in the show. It's kind of the obvious joke to do with kids (Death and Seth), but with Bastet Joseph gets infected after pondering on a desert toilet, there's the whole Justice deal with Polnareff, and there are probably other small instances that I'm forgetting.

Pretty weird how 7 year old Jotaro can send a man flying like that especially when he was meant to be a nice kid.

If Polnareff doesn't die then hopefully he can be with her in the end.
