Doing allright generally...maybe not today though as i have a terrible hangover from drinking way too much at my uncle´s birthday party haha
and you? ^^

Have you watched Kimi no na wa in the meantime? lol
PhKay May 13, 2017 6:09 PM
Happy Birthday :)
Toasted-Reason Dec 30, 2016 11:27 PM
Heya! Very late reply, phew

Aw, well that sucks about your major. Oh well, as long as it's not 100% suffering haha

Cool! I know Part 7 is usually loved the most/rated the highest. I may pick up the manga soon! I'm not sure yet
LOL I am right there with you about Love Live, hahaha. Who was your best girl? :p
Ohh I need to watch Mawaru Penguindrum, I've heard lots of good things about it! And yeah who knows, I also liked Monogatari right away (thumbs up)

Huh, that's pretty neat. Yeah it's really a problem when the entirety of a series' plot/story revolves around loads of forced, made-up drama. Those deaths in JoJo weren't forced at all though, they were presented well in my opinion, and so they were indeed very sad.

So are you interested in anything coming up this winter season?
Toasted-Reason Nov 17, 2016 1:30 PM
Heya! So sorry for the late reply. I was hoping to get to it sooner of course, but now I feel like I should at least send something. The past week or so has gotten extra busy, and still will be for about another week (exams and due dates explosion, it's great).
I want to give you a proper reply, and I will!! Soon!!!
PhKay Nov 16, 2016 3:01 PM
wow that didn´t take you very long to complete Penguindrum haha
i really suck at getting to recommendations quickly so i am impressed ^^

anyway with Mawaru Penguindrum, the correct answer to "what did i just watch?" is probably always "yes!" lol
I has everything from all you mentioned plus a ton of metaphors which are basically not understandable for a normal human being like the child broiler or the meaning behind the train....and then they somehow include cute penguins in all of that chaos!! lol really a unique creation.
With stuff like this i always can´t get my head around the question who is able to come up with that and how. Anyway it´s great you liked it ^^

What are your thoughts on the current season? I don´t watch much airing so the only show we seem to watch both is Occultic Nine ^^
Also grats on crushing Argentina, looks like Brazil is slowly but surely going back to where they should be in world football which is right at the top hehe
Toasted-Reason Nov 5, 2016 3:11 PM
Cool! Totally different subjects we're into, huh? Do you enjoy it, I hope? I know some people go to school and study something they don't like or don't want to, for whatever personal reasons. I think that would be way too difficult to deal with!
GOSH you're so right though about finding new things at our age now, and not being able to do shit about it!! :(

Yes, same here--In real life, there seem to be like, zero JJBA fans. So sad. And then I must also recommend it to them! Haha. JoJo is the show I always ask about too when finding out someone's a fan of anime, lol!
NICE job on starting that domino effect!! Proud of you. :p Aw! Yes I have decided to wait until after Part 4 finishes to pick up reading Part 5. I read Part 3 before the remake came out, it was fun times, but I still absolutely love going in blind for DiU! So I haven't decided what to do yet!! lol
What's your favorite Part?

Oh ok, gotcha. Toradora is certainly a popular one, but all the others are definitely less watched in comparison it seems! Cool stuff. Glad to hear you say that! It's always kind of lame if someone goes "You scored it that low?! But how??!?!?" Hahaha. To me it looks like our tastes are pretty similar, it's just that you don't score as harsh, that's all. :p

Yeah, for those additional ones that you listed, there are undoubtedly way more fans! Most people in real life, for example, would know about those series if I asked. The Monogatari Series could maybe still be considered some sort of a niche.. Bakemonogatari is fairly well-watched, at least.
Oh woww... All 3 of those are in my Top 10. I couldn't recommend them enough!!!

How do I feel about that? Haha... KnB doesn't even compare to HQ. Doesn't even come close! KnB relies on super powers and last-chance last-second miracles (aka "ass-pulls"), but I must admit it's still executed fairly well overall and creates a great sense of hype as you watch, making you want more and more. HQ though does not have super powers, and so the volleyball matches are much more realistic and believable, in contrast to KnB imo. (For me, realism in sports anime is important.) The character interactions and individual characterizations are much more thorough, relatable, and again realistic in HQ, as well. KnB is good.. HQ simply raises the bar even higher and reaches far superior heights. (I also like Slam Dunk manga more than KnB)

Mmm, that's kind of a loaded question, as I am actually pretty easy to make cry through anime/manga lol. I guess if you must label it as a known "tear-jerker", that [USUALLY, IN MY OPINION] translates to "forced drama". It is this forced drama, frequently paired with underdeveloped characters and story, that I do not like. You come to truly care about situations and characters in a story through their experiences and obstacles faced... I will not feel any sort of 'sad' emotion by simply being told "This is a sad scene. Now be sad." What do I care who dies, for instance, if I don't even know the characters involved well enough? I don't care how sad the music sounds, nor if someone I don't know is crying. If I am not properly attached through the literary prowess of the story presented, why would I care? Why would that make me sad? And to me, that is a blatant sign of poor writing. The writer(s) is completely unsure about how to handle its characters, and so everything becomes a confused mess by just trying to elicit a feeling of sadness from the audience, by throwing whatever they can at the viewer. Key/Jun Maeda are infamous repeat-offenders of this, specifically.
You know what I'm saying?

LOL yyyep same, it's fine though! Oh well, haha!

But of course, everything at the right time no? i'm deeply depressed by the leave of spookyness but what can i do,it just passes so quick...

No apologies needed!
I gotcha, makes sense! Yes, I have thought about giving it a shot, I'm sure it's a fun one. I miss the free time I used to have before college, I know you understand. -_- I see we were even born in the same year, nice! What're you studying in school? I'm a biology major, chemistry minor!

Oh man, the way I see it, there are a shit ton of diehard JoJo fans out there! But maybe that's only because I'm always looking for them, lol! Like how can you not love the series?! It is just so dang good. The more JoJo fans I meet, the better >:)
What other series were you thinking that you were maybe one of the few? I'm curious, plus talking about them is fun

Life´s turned into a nighttime kinda thing only for me in the past two months. A colleague of mine is out with a shoulder injury so i had a ton of nightshifts at work and i work at night only. I´m starting to think i´m a Vampire as i hardly see any sunlight lol i go to sleep between 7-8am every day and get up at around 4pm o.O.

Can´t say it isn´t fun though. I kept my nightlife lifestyle on my free days too so i don´t have to adjust back and forth all the time which means i basically went out on most free days hehe

Can´t wait to hear about your opinions on Kimi no na wa and Mawaru Penguindrum even thought the latter will probably take you a while :)
TimeToRepent Oct 16, 2016 1:49 PM
Oh, why is the syllabus that different? I mean, what you see of Electrical Engineering here you see it in Electronic Engineering (making some circuits, for example).
How many years does the career last?
Are the Comp. Eng. subjects a lot? Or a few?
I'll have Logical Design in the second year, I'm cursing Systems of Representation this period and I'll have Microprocessors Lab in the third year.

I'm already getting started in Electric Circuits. I suppose I'm gonna have Analog Electronics next year. Never heard of the last two.

Well, it seems like it '-'
Toasted-Reason Oct 16, 2016 8:45 AM
I have not, what makes you ask?
PhKay Oct 12, 2016 4:17 PM
oh! hello there! Long time no see indeed haha how is life? Are you doing okay? :-)
Nice to hear from you!

I studied our lists today a bit with the help of the amazing comparison tool (shared anime) and concluded that our tastes are going further apart the lighter the show is. We rated a vast majority of more serious stuff like Mysteries and Psychologicals very similar, 90% of those we gave the same rating or are just one point apart.
It would be logical therefore to recommend anime from those named genres, but we share 100+ shows and you have watched most of the serious anime I liked so it is difficult.
The one exception you haven´t watched from my top rated Mysteries is Mawaru Penguindrum and I recommend this a lot to everyone. It is really crazy and unique, at times mind challenging and the mood swings are insane. It has been an awesome rollercoaster experience for me and I loved how it required my full attention at all times with its countless flashbacks. So you maybe wanna try this one!

Also you should definitely watch Kimi no na wa as soon as you can as it appears you haven´t yet. It took the MAL ratings by storm and is the new number 1 and also Makoto Shinkai has never done much wrong anyway in his life as a writer so it really is a must watch movie and I would love to hear your opinion. If it deserves Nr. 1 is a different matter but it is definitely fantastic but judge for yourself ^^

Haha, I like portuguese too but I prefer to talk in english... actually, Japanese>English>Portuguese, the newer I am in a language the more I want to use it, I guess you agree with me in that point right? Since you're here in an english forum talking in english xD, I guess everyone is like that somehow, you always want to put into practice what you have learned.
But about hiragana and katakana, nah It's not something else, you probably don't know it only because you didn't really try to learn it.
I'll tell you what you have to do to memorize it perfectly today.
First go to this page https://yosida.com/en/hiragana.html for hiragana, and this page https://yosida.com/en/katakana.html for katakana.
It shows to you the pronunciation of every character, and by clicking on the character you can see how to write it.
Take a pen and a paper. Then write あ twenty times in a column. Then write あ again, and below it write 20 times い. Bellow it write あ and い only using your memory. Bellow it write う 20 times. Then write あ, い and う again only using your memory. Bellow it え 20 times. And then あ, い, う and え with your memory. Keep using the same method with all hiragana characters, and then do the same with katakana. In the end you'll have learned all hiragana and katakana.
Yeah, I studied Japanese alone by myself and I can I'm pretty fluent, I can watch anime without subs and I can read texts like this http://www1.bbiq.jp/kareha/trans/html/devils_foot,_the.html
If you're interested in learning japanese, you can see my reply in Celeste's profile, I went into details about it there. And it's very simple seriously.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
