| Girl sure loves her books. The story doesn't seem as grand scale as it but this is definitely giving me some Giant Robo vibes due to it's over the topness. Pretty pleasant surprise for a series I solely decided to watch cause it was a short OVA. Already makes me wonder if the tv series will be worth watching despite the lower score and likely lower animation quality/production. |
| I didn't like this at all, maybe it's that I can't identify because I don't like reading that much anymore, but I found the main character very annoying, also the anime just kept getting cheesier and cheesier as it went on, I have a high tolerance for Japanese style cheese, but something just felt off about this one. Perhaps it is trying too hard. |

| Read or Die was advertised a ton when I was in middle school. I remember seeing commercials for it on TV so much. I never particularly had interest in it though, and mostly only caught bits and pieces while waiting for other things to come on. But, I'm going to go ahead and knock this series out, OVAs first. I have no idea what to expect though as I have no recollection of what the plot is. This guy blew up the White House thinking it was a library? Alright. The art and animation are really good, and I like Yomiko. I liked her better with her cowlick though. But, I'm not sure how I feel about them being so heavy handed with "Readman." All of that being said, I wish I knew what this series was about. The villains are like clones of historical figures that steal books? Like, what are we doing? I thought she was spending money on books like crazy because she had mad bucks from being a super secret spy or whatever. But she doesn't seem to be employed by this organization, they just sometimes call on her? There are just a lot of questions... |

Not sure what the complainers in the thread are on about. No generic handholding bullshit in this show, it just gets to the point. It doesn't take a genius to figure out the broad strokes of the story either. Soundtrack is a banger too. |
