| Most creepy in this anime are dolls. Seriously, who would evern keep dolls looking like this, it's like instant shit in pants evey time you see them ;s Anyway, that's probly the best serie of this season, which isn't something significant.. |

| Yumekichi11 Nice post of yours, you saw many things that i missed. the knife and the body floating in the river i saw, but the umbrella.. wow. I know what is the meaning of the umbrella, but i wont throw any spoilers here. Anyway, Looks like i need to see the episode again ^^ The best scene for me was the ending, when he was inside the car and saw Mei in the middle of the rain. The way that the camera moves looks so cool, like a movie, and the sountrack for that scene is very spooky. another one is after mei left the elevator, and went to the morgue. the sound of the distorced siren was a really nice touch. |

| Definitely creepy, reminded me of a horror movie. And I knew there was something about her explanation when she added "Sympathy" and "Screams" ( actually thought the screams part made it a bit obvious). The morgue part, though, evil directors and showing darkened places... I really don't want to be scared to death by something suddenly appearing >.< ... and yeah, the op and ed are nice songs, but for this kind of show they just don't quite fit. |
| Is this supposed to be a mystery or a comedy? Horror as a genre? OH MAL YOU AND YOUR GENRES LOLOL. So far, I've lol'd at the fact that they play eerie (not at all fitting) music during CASUAL conversation. The random dolls flashing, is that supposed to make me "scared?" The character designs are actually very impressive. So far a meh at best adaption at the manga, hope it can prove me wrong and not turn into another Blood-C. If all else fails, it is still pretty to watch. |

It's the #1 thing that still freaks me out no matter what. | The atmosphere that the music creates is perfect! The secrets that you can see on the characters expressions. it will be a interesting anime. |

| It was ok. Besides meeting Mei in the elevator & classroom as well as hearing the conversation between Mei and Kouichi, nothing really happened. I hope the anime dives into story of Mei's death soon. |

| I think this is supposed to be some type of horror anime or creepy or something along those lines, but I found it funny. It kinda felt like a horror parody. They treated everything as if it was all super serious, even light-hearted situations like going to a new school. I find it much more scary when what seems like normal people end up being crazy, but all these characters feel crazy or suspicious right from the get go, so there's never any tension. It doesn't help that they constantly blast this creepy-esque dark score. It's playing about 90% of the time. The OP was pretty shitty as well. Almost all of the dialogue felt forced or unnatural. Not really anything special. Still hoping this will improve though. |

| I cannot say there is something odd about Mei, it almost feels like there is something wrong with everyone and Mei is actually the normal one... and perhaps the main protagonist as well... o.o Nice first episode :D |

| Definitely loved how they established that really mysterious and creepy atmosphere. They've definitely been teasing us about the plot throughout this episode, but that only makes me want the next episode more. Great start and definitely looking forward to more. |

| I'm extremely torn going into this show. On one hand, we have PA Works, which besides True Tears, hasn't really been on good terms with me this past years. Canaan was bleh, Angel Beats was a disappointment and Hanasaku Iroha could have gone the distance but not quite. We also have the director, while doing some good comedy, failed horribly at Blood-C. Finally, the hype everyone was at before this even started. This is kinda like the one with Guilty Crown and look where that ended up. Also, Ali Project. On the other hand, I kind of liked what I saw in this episode. Plus the sound director does some really great pieces at different works. And as usual, PA Works excels at doing almost realistic and beautiful backgrounds. So yeah. Let's hope this goes somewhere. |

| It was... okay i guess. It wasn't as breathtaking that I was hoping for it to be. The atmosphere was really well done though. First impressions: 8/10 I was thinking that the fourth level would be part of the mystery of her death, but then I found out that skipping level four was the usual in japan xD. |

| potential is definitely there, i just hope it keeps going at this level. i actually got creeped out watching this because i had my playstation usb cable laying over my subwoofer for my surround sound and it was vibrating like crazy (this show has a lot of bass) and i thought it was a sound effect of the show. good mood music i must say |

| On another note, was this episode release early? I thought it was scheduled to be released on wednesday... (at least thats what animecalendar.net says :P) but I can't complain :) The first episode did a great job building up the suspense and horror themes, but I was very unimpressed by the OP. The characters, music, sound, and art all compliment the overall mood of the story very well too, and it's artfully dont. One thing that threw me off a bit was the part where all the students are talking to Kouichi but the voices didn't match up to the characters on screen. It had a sort of chaotic feel, which I guess is what the anime was going for, but for someone reading subtitles it was a bit mind boggling. But in retrospect, it gave insight into Kouchi's perception of arriving in school and being bombarded by questions by a myriad of strangers. I have to agree with the similarities to Shiki that were brought up, The mood and techniques used to establish that atmosphere are definitely similar. But this anime has a lot of potential to diverge into a world of it's own, which I look forward to. I think so far the anime seems to be building up the plot quite well, I have an idea of where it's going to go, but in the same time there's doubt and hesitation. I look forward to the next episode. |

| Very mixed opinions in this thread, I personally loved this episode. PA Works once again manages to wow me with their extremely realistic and beautiful backgrounds and the sound director and music composer did a great job at creating an eerie atmosphere. Looking forward to the rest. |

| This is probably one of those shows that doesnt get good until a few episodes in. There is no real suspense since everything is quite obvious except for why they associated him with death. The dolls are creepy though. Am i the only one that thinks the background music sounds like its played on a theramin? Ive always wanted one of those. |
| I don't really know what to think yet. It did get pretty mysterious but it never got creepy. The atmosphere was good also. I just hope it doesn't turn into a shitty romance. |
