I knew someone was going to license it sooner than later. I just hope the dub'll be somewhat decent.

Sadly these simulcasts rarely, if ever, make it overseas. The rest of the world will be watching this through fan-subs.

Whenever this happens it only makes me want to watch it more, this was part of the reason that I watched Phantom ~Requiem of the Phantom~ in the first place, I figure if it gets liscenced it has to be good.

In other words, there will still be a Japanese version.

But I'm British. Will I have to rely on sub rips, as this seems to be a full license, simulcasting now and releasing DVDs later,

Well that's all fine and lovely for North America, but what about the rest of the english-speaking world? They really can't see past their own country, can they.

This was probably the best thing in between DRR! confirmed for a dub, and Funi nabbing Darker than Black 2, and the Trigun Movie.

It's really nice to see them back on their game. Even with the english du this is still amazing.

As well as the K-ON license by Bandai, Sora no Woto has been licensed by Nozomi/Rightstuf.

So there's a lot of licences happened in America today (or yesterday, due to lagging timezones)

I have no intention of watching a censored version of a zombie anime. It'll be aired in Japan and picked up and fansubbed by someone like every other series anyway.

What piracy? They're already streaming it, why would they need to DMCA fansub groups if their subs are faster and better? The only possible reason would be to stop international piracy but since apparently we don't exist for them (you know, region restricted streams), they're not exactly losing money on that, are they?

Funi is doing the exact same mistake as some Japanese companies, assuming their entire target audience lives within the confines of their respective borders. It's ignorant and ultimately stupid, since it causes people like myself, who would be happy to shell out cash for anime DVDs, to hate Funi and not buy anything on principle. I'd rather waste my money on Japanese DVDs than give anything to Funi, since they don't care about me and supporting the real anime industry is more efficient.

If CR can stream to almost every country in the word, Funi can too. Yet they don't, and thus they can go to hell for all I care. But whatever, you're American so you don't give a fuck about the rest of the world. Enjoy your simulcasts.

Edit: Obviously Funi = Sentai within the context of this thread but they're equally bad. Also, I don't hate America or Americans, I hate clueless American corporations.

Why are people calling censorship!?! The is NOT a kids anime for pete's sake, there will be no censorship. I have a feeling this might air on T.V. because it has the worldwide appeal, and when it does it will probably get some light editing but that's it.

The guy was bitching about how it was gonna be hard to get fansubs because of DMCA. Also region restricted streams isn't really funi's fault, they probably only have the rights in america, while crunchyroll probably has international rights to their stuff. Funimation only cares about the target audience in their respective borders, because well.......... that's where they sell stuff duhhhhhhhh. Its illegal for them to sell stuff outside of the country they have the license in. They shouldn't have to care about you since they aren't selling anything in your country. If you don't like it start your own licensing company in your own country.

Viz media have now acquired Nurarihyon no Mago. As it's only a simulcast license, I decided that it's not notable enough for it's own news story. I saw it coming, mind you.

I can still buy their licensed anime, Amazon and rightstuf sell internationally. When your only two choices are American licensed anime and Japanese overpriced anime, which one makes the more sense?

Not even having the opportunity to watch fansubs or legal streams means I won't want to buy any anime, from anybody. English fansubs get watched in more places than America and when you restrict your legal streams to America, guess what happens: your market shrinks. It may not be by much, but it does.

You didn't answer this part of my post though: Why are they DMCA-ing fansubs, when they're already streaming shit on Youtube? Fear of competition? Preventing people from downloading? There's no rational explanation for it.
