| well elfen lied is quite tasty and Gantz i loved them but elfen lied isnt half as bloody as it could be and is credited for. completed Blue Gender today and i must admit that there are some nice gore effects too just a pitty that most fights there are ended by pressing the "core" button of living animals which makes it silly and in my point of view a bit dumb. blood - the last vampire is quite gay when it comes down to violence and gore factors additionally claymore is quite good in my opinion and Higurashi_no_Naku_Koro_ni even if the spelling is hard for me and a quite complex stroyline you have to pay attention to *GG* for the weedlovers and pot smokers who like some blood afrosamurai is a nice decision when you order pizza, dont clean up your room and listen to the RZA and ofc try to hide at your "Brotha" - just to fit to the clichée think my vote just goes for berserk the anime, many wasted sheets of papers with the storyline in the manga ^^ we want to see Guts fight and not with the Goten, Dragonball Z said: "kissy kissy stuff" |

| I was disappointed by violence in Elfen Lied the way people talked about it I guess I was expecting too much. Gantz anime had it's good moments of gore but gantz manga has much more and better gore then the anime version in my opinion. I'm still looking for my favorite gory anime though. An honorable mention goes to Amon: The Apocalypse of Devilman. From what I saw it was pretty nasty. |

| All of Go Nagai's works are pretty amazing. The Devilman and Violence Jack OVAs are pretty old school, and objectively I admit they aren't masterpieces, but they are gory and enjoyable as hell lol. |

Elfen Lied is still teh best imho. |

A lot more Shooting and bloodletting in it after all. | I would have to agree with all of the anime people have listed here....but here are a couple i would add....i'm not saying these are all GOOD animes, just heavy in the violence, in my opinion... Afro Samurai Basilisk Kite (hentai/action) Shigurui I see a few animes listed here that i have never heard of, need to go get them! |

The Ichi manga is probably everything you enjoyed from the movie x10. I saw the live-action movie before reading the manga so it took a bit to get used to manga Kakihara's look since I loved Tadanobu Asano's performance. But after a volume or so I got used to manga Kakihara's look and loved it. The Ichi anime has kind of poor animation, but uses the manga character designs and has a great soundtrack and story that fills in as a bit of a prequel to the manga. If you can look past the animation, the rest of it is actually pretty top notch imo. |

| My absolute favorites are easily - Higurashi - Black Lagoon & The Second Barrage - Blood+ - Mnemosyne - Baccano! & OAV - Elfen Lied - Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen Then... BALDR FORCE EXE Resolution was quite violent (exploding heads, rape, psychological, etc) and actually well-done. I think I'll rewatch it soon. Boogiepop Phantom is pretty gory. Then, Yuu Yuu Hakusho, can't forget about this one. :-D Evangelion as well, even if it's not so "violence-focused", it still has some crude scenes. |

| If I'd have to choose one from the club's list, I'd choose Neon Genesis Evangelion, but in my opinion it's not really gory, I don't even know why is it on this list. If I'd choose from, what I think it's gory, then my favourites would be Shigurui, Higurashi, Hellsing OVA, Baccano, Akira and Perfect Blue (even though I think the last three weren't even that bloody), but I didn't like neither of them for the amount of blood And for Elfen Lied: I don't really get, why people like it so much. If you like it for the gore, then there are way more violent shows out there, and it was neither emotional or clever, I might say it was a stupid fanservice show, with forced unrealistic drama. But I respect you choice |
