Pet Peeves in Anime:
- characters constantly calling "oniichan"/"oneechan" to someone of no blood relation
- when characters kind of die but never for real; disney deaths
- characters designed to be moe because of their victim or broken girl complex
History: My first anime 1999: Vampire Hunter D, Darkside Blues, Spirit Warrior: Peacock King OVA 2. I was hooked and immediately set out to watch all the anime I could find. Most of the anime available in stores at the time were put out by Manga Entertainment and were well known for their ultra violence and excessive profanity. Needless to say, this was right up my alley lol. A year later, I got a job working in a video store and expanded my horizons. Once broadband internet came into the picture and I discovered the miracle known as fansubs, my list of anime grew very rapidly into the numbers you see today...though I still have a soft spot for those great 90's OVAs. Even the bad ones are enjoyable..compared to bad anime of today that make me want to throw my face into the desk.
Similar for me, dropped out of school, spent a year working, realized I wasnt ready to work full time for the rest of my life, moved to Chicago. Living in an apartment and taking classes here. Also, Im now realizing how many shows I still need to watch... oh well, waiting till the summer for that.
BM! Dude, how are you? Was just looking at some of my MAL-friends' profiles and you are online as I open your page, ahhaa!.. Why not visit the irc channel? ;) How's life anyway - been like, year+..!?
Just curious, but are you going to be actively posting in the club again? And if so, would you like me to add you to the Mass Message mailing list again?
