I did see parts of Higurashi and all of season 2. Not really liking it. I dislike character design and the gore was cool in first season when the little girl was slamming her head into the knife, but season 2 was slower paced. I may check Blassrieter again soon as I did not like it first time I saw it, but that was about a year ago and I should re-evaluate it.
Must see the Violence Jack OVAs. The UNCUT subtitled version, NOT the english dub version. Twisted sick violence in that one. Genocyber has a couple good gore scenes as well.
