If I get bored from watching anime I stop watching it. Why even bother doing something that bores you?

To keep it as simple as possible, I just mix things up and choose titles from various genres and styles at random. That's it. For example, I'm hogging down a bunch of ecchi right now but I'm looking at starting up LotGH in the next week or two. And then after that who knows? I might even pick up a shounen-ai after that if I'm really in the mood.

Usually during weekdays/any day I have to work or go to school, I'll maybe watch like an episode or two of a long anime (Gintama, One Piece, etc.)

During breaks and free weekends, if I feel like binging on anime, I'll watch a bunch of short series/read some shorter manga.

I also tend to watch a ton of American TV (sitcoms, crime shows, Game of Thrones/Breaking Bad) and a lot of movies as well. So that generally prevents me from ever getting bored with anime, especially since I don't watch anime year-round.

When I get bored, I just stop watching for awhile. That really helps because I tend to come back refresh, and yearning for some good ol' anime. Sometimes, I just read manga until I get bored of that,,,

I just watch anime when I'm in a mood for it (which is most of the time), and I often switch genres so I can get a little bit of variation.
I rarely take a break, but it can happen from time to time when I got important stuff to do.

This happened to me some months ago.
I felt so bored about anime and I stopped watching for 5 months. Then today, I feel like watching anime again.
I think this is not a thing to worry about, you will feel like enjoying anime sometime.

It's probably just losing the magic in everything, including anime. I'm not sure anyone's ever been to avoid that. It usually happens in your teens.

You've probably just need to take a break from it for awhile. It's happened to me on more than a few occasions. You'll eventually see something that catches your interest and be back into it. Till then relax, read a book, or play some video games.

Bad anime makes me not want to watch anime. Good anime makes me want to watch more anime.

Solution: Drop any anime that isn't addictive to watch.

Just drop the bad ones and move on.

Only pick up a few shows at a time and drop the ones you don't like? Might help you appreciate the good ones better and therefore makes you enjoy anime again.

The problem is that anime nowadays is usually very boring and stupid. Try something older, especially from the 1995~2007 era. There are a lot of gems in that period.

And don't be scared. If you eventually get fed up with anime, it will not hurt you because you'll naturally want to stop watching. It happened to me with video-games.

You always have manga. For example i stopped watching anime (as long as there will be moe and fanservice, for me the Japanese animation is dead) but I switched to manga because I've realized that this industry is still free from otaku and there is a great variety of genres/stories

Just dropping by to say thanks for you comment but i disagree with the "anime used to be better" nonsense.

Anime was always a bunch of shit with the occasional great series.

Most of us were just young in that era and feel nostalgic about it.

This thread was a bad idea because my list is inaccurate. We are talking like 50 shows missing.

I don't only watch Romcoms, I just stopped updating when i switched genres.

2) Stop looking for good things, they won't mean anything if you don't care (if you need timesinks, play mindless online games instead)

If you hung up on things you will only get hurt ........just let it go.
As for me , I watch anime whenever I'm in the mood and that didnt happen often lately.
I mean , last year , I was watching anime like crazy doing marathons and starting again the next day. Now I barely watch 1 episode of those on my watching list .
Take for example Nisekoi , I stopped watching it because it has the kind of drama that , if my heart was a human being it would suffocate it to death. So I stopped watching that kind of thing for a while now.
Take , as an example GnB , I spoiled myself a bunch from episode 3 onwards . I didnt had to watch it , I knew what happened from there on.
Well , last year , even if I'd spoil myself with manga or w/e source I find I still watched the anime.
Now and then I feel like I want to watch One Piece if I were to watch at the same rate as I were last year now I'd be at the same episode as it is today. I watched 3 to 12 or more episodes a day , heck in 2 months I reached episode 175 . I started in october watching it ......by january I stopped looking at anime that much and barely watched 1 episode per week . I mean I had times when I watched 3-4 but rarely.

I usually go through a cycle of watching anime for a period of time and then either stopping or watching considerably less for another period of time. However, my standards are pretty much the same as when I first started, maybe a little higher. I don't compare anime series with one another and I don't really get turned off/annoyed by clichés. As long as it's executed in a way I find funny/interesting, I'll be fine.

If you find yourself getting burned out on anime, its really helpful to do other things in your free time for a while and then come back to anime later after taking somewhat of a break from it. It can make watching anime very refreshing and exciting after not watching it for a while and doing other things.

Ideally you'd mix up anime with other hobbies anyway, even if you weren't getting tired of anime tropes and cliches. I watch movies, play video games, read books, do stuff with friends to mix it up a bit. I think some people on here get too caught up in a trying to build their anime count up to 1000 or 200/300/400/500, and they pour all of their free time into watching anime for this pointless goal.

Also it really helps to try and try anime that may be outside of what you believe you would enjoy. Some people pander to their "taste" to such a degree that they don't watch any shows from particular genres like SOL and shoujo, so there may be loads of amazing anime you haven't seen because you weren't willing to branch out and try some different shows.

But at the same time it can be helpful to know your tastes well so you don't end up watching shows with elements you know that you hate. Don't be a completion-ist and force yourself to watch shows you truely don't enjoy, almost never turns out well.

After seeing your profile/favorites and list you're just watching complete shit. You enjoy shit, that's all it is.. stop doing that to yourself.

You're limiting your anime watching to like 2011+ series and it's not even anything "good" that you've seen besides maybe a handful of shows.

My list is wildly inaccurate. It's missing like 80 entries.

yet u r to early to worry about that.... i'm worry that i'm already get bored in anime... lately i spend less money on anime and more to my ps games ....
