THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Wow, what an opening song! Wonderfully made with solid chereography and imagery.

Hiyajou's involvement with Okabe is interesting as they bring up the topic of Kurisu. Obviously, Okabe still thinks a lot about her and the events of the past as well as the current world line. I kinda like their character chemisty so far, quite different since when they first met. Hiyajo's reaction to Kurisu was also interesing to note and I want to see more of their past (besides just the short flashback this episode)

Hiyajou impresses me with her intellect. Seeing Kurisu on that screen talking to Okabe almost bought a tear to my eye.

The OP and ED visuals are foreshadowing. Amazing.
This episode is more calm, the directing in this episode improved but the animation quality is pretty much the same with nice background details.

Amadeus is CGI,

Prepare to see more Kurisutina.

rest in pepperonis, my friend

so, a new challenger has arrived, right, maho? kurisu's va seems a bit different from what i remember, maybe because of the ai-ish effect they layered on it
and right off the bat ai acts all tsunderish, kinda strange, considering the first time they've met at the conference she destroyed him

and why wouldn't okabe tell maho about the time leap experiments?

Absolutely tremendous OP. It's tied with the original Steins;Gate OP for my favorite anime openings of all time. Kudos to the franchise for this.

Other than that, phenomenal episode. Seeing Amadeus and Okabe together brings back a lot of nostalgia that made me really feel down for Okabe that he has to go through this.

So far, 2 excellent episodes out of 2 for this show. Steins;Gate was gone for many years but it hasn't lost its beat in anyway.

But the feels were definitely here, they managed to capture Kurisu perfectly with Amadeus. Poor Okabe, i feel for him.

Op and Ed are frigging great and easily contender for best theme songs of the season.

And great episode again,Okabe interacting with Amadeus Kurisu was so heartbreaking.

This show knows how to push my buttons, looking forward to more.

It took this episode to get my brain really in sync with everything Steins;Gate, all over again... Okabe being confronted with AI Kurisu, Mayuri seeming to have a sense of something going on, even if she isn't sure what it is, exactly. The compelling meter is legit through the roof, right now.

OP teases a lot of stuff, including something that doesn't even happen in the two main routes they're supposed to adapt. Hopefully this means that we see plot-points from the other routes merging into the main routes.

Great episode though. That Amadeus part didn't really get to me, mainly because I know there's much more feels-inducing moments incoming soon enough.

Also, ED is pretty awesome. I think I like it more than the OP. Not as good as the original anime's ED though. That's still one of my all time favorite ED :P

There. Are. Ways. El. Psy.Congroo.

I need to hear more Engreesh from Okabe: "uh, sorri" and that bit at the end is not enough for me.

I'm enjoying this immensely. I never knew I missed Steins gate so much. Oh God, Kuristina is back too!

Really excited for the dub to see if they translate the engrish and all that as well as they did in the original.

For the best though that he doesn't get over it. It's that obsession with Kurisu that could make all the difference in avoiding global catastrophe.

Not that it makes it easier on the guy. It's a visible and painful reminder of what he's lost. Could be the push he needs though. If he can't stand her being gone then has to find it in himself to go out and save her. Being confronted with this replication of the girl he loved may be just what he needs right now.

Another fascinating and compelling episode, and I'm glad this week focused in on Okabe and Kurisu. This episode did an excellent job of establishing how far the Amadeus system has already come in matching the real Kurisu: that "uncanny valley" feeling has already been effectively established, and it's going to be interesting to see how Okabe changes as he continues to interact with her.

However, Maho - who already seems a pretty great addition to the cast from these first two episodes - said that the system still has its issues and, other than the psychological effects she described to Okabe, I'm curious what that actually means. Then there's also the notion of memory transference (or something to that effect) which Kurisu theorised and that Okabe and Maho discussed at the bar: where's that leading us to, I wonder?

This episode was an experience. I laughed and smiled when Okabe began speaking to Kurisu and even said Christina in front of everybody. I got hit in the feels throughout several parts of the episode.

The opening is easily my favorite of the season, the ED is also terrific

Dissapointing Opening : the song is good, the rest is meh, the ending is superior on the visuals but the song is meh.

At least they don't seem to rush things so that's a good sign.

I just hope that Maho's route will get adapted as the OP seems to hint at this.

I like the effect chosen to animate the Amadeus models. It's CGI, both in-universe and probably actually rendered that way, but they did a good job of making the characters look like a part of the story world, without breaking the immersion with an out-of-place art style. IMO, "Maho" was done better than "Kurisu" but still.

The music was an interesting mix of entries from the previous anime, the VN and new songs. I thought the cues sometimes came early and that the soundtrack changed a little too frequently, but that's probably because the visual novel does things differently.

The beginning of the episode felt a little unnatural with technical difficulties being the excuse for people to start muttering + doubting the validity of the research, but I can't think of a better way to do it under the time budget so I guess it's fine. Okabe's encounter with Maho at the party was very well done; you could feel the camaraderie that forms between the two, and the crying scene though sudden in timing was completely understandable considering where their conversation was heading.

I think the show is also tying things together in a cool and subtle way, knowing that they can't rely on hinting things using multiple endings.

Underwhelming opening and ending. I like the visuals, but the songs themselves not so much.

Disappointed that they just skimmed through the seminar, not that i was expecting them to have all the technobabble but it was a good chance to establish early on that Leskinen is a top memelord, but it's so obvious anyways that it doesn't matter!

Also, the pacing is kinda fast, don't know how (and if) they're planning to merge all the routes together, but they needed to slow down for some of the emotional scenes in this episode.

And FFS how difficult is it to get a name right?

Oh, and i don't really like CGI Amadeus but it makes sense as a stylistic choice.

I agree that the seminar is fast but we got all the important details from it (I played the VN btw) and emotion wise, they did a pretty good job as it felt more impactful in the anime in comparison to the VN and it seems to be less awkward between Amadeus and Okabe, which I also like.

I agree too with CGI Kurisu but I can handle it honestly since... well it's Kurisutina
