| the best 21 minutes of my life. it was a mix of nostalgia and just pure awe at everything just getting blown up, over the top violence and just how exaggerated everything is. 5/5 and best premier of the Spring 09 line-up. |

| I like Kouji's new voice actor. The old voice may be iconic and unique, but his nasally tone really bugged me. Love the new voices for everyone else though, funny how most of the cast are amateurs. |

This episode was pretty incoherent, so I'm going to assume that it's only a preview episode, especially since the next episode is named "Activate! Mazinger!". |
| The series has started in media res. We'll probably find out the circumstances that lead to the situation in the following episodes. Also, it wasn't really incoherent. The prologue in the volcano is the only part that didn't seem to fit anywhere, the rest of the episode was pretty straightforward. |

| Legendary first episode is legendary. The only thing I could complain about is that it felt pretty incoherent at times, but when EXPLOSIONS, BOSS BOROT CATCHES NUKES, BIG BANG PUNCH, KOUJI BEING SO FUCKING AWESOME I can't say that I give much of a shit whether it flows perfectly or not. Also, hot damn is Zeus a badass motherfucker. 15/5 because it's three times as awesome as any anime I've seen thus far in '09. |
| I was so confused throughout the entire episode, mostly due to the huge amount of characters. But still, this was really good! I'll never get tired of huge explosions and senseless violence =P |

| No, it's a brand new series. It has no relation to the original show or manga and isn't a remake or sequel. It's made for both new viewers and old fans to enjoy. |

| This show has the potential to be the best this season, but first ep was too confusing for me. Maybe that's because I'm totally new to Mazinger universe and I don't know these characters, but their design is absolutely awesome. If the next episodes will be easier to understand, I'm gonna watch it to the end. |

I think this series is the same deal as Gungrave and Berserk (using these as examples since I see you've watched them). First episode takes place later on in the story, then from the second episode on it goes back to the beginning and we found out what happened. |

| Well I have no clue what just happened. Seemed pretty epic, but I don't think it had the impact it should have had on me since I don't know who any of the characters are. I liked the old 70s style art though. |
| Even with all the awesome going around, by the end I couldn't help but to wonder: What the heck just happened? And yes, I'm familiar with the Mazinger mythos, and yet I ended up confused. More than a first episode, it was a psychotic preview of the things yet to come, I guess. I cannot wait for the real first episode, hopefully it will be less Mind Screw-ish. PS. If Groizer X is there, maybe there's a chance for Govarian to show up, doesn't it? OK, maybe not... But I'd love to see that T-Link Mazinger in a near future. |
