I just ordered the last of the Wright Staff collections, so after that I'll only have to wait for whatever new sets they release. considering they just released the one with Tristan, I'm hoping for future sets with Barbarossa, Königs Tiger and Krishna.
But I do dislike their fondness of throwing FPA cruisers and nondescript battleships around everywhere as filler, and the practice of making double of nearly every Imperial ship is also somewhat silly.
But beggars can't be choosers I guess.

I kind of want to buy that set of LoGH pins, but the price is so fucking steep.
Would have been awesome to attach that Rosenritter badge on my beret or something.

Yeah, that's true. But, the thing that annoyed me was that they cut out the great episode 4, which really helped me understand Shinji and Misato during the TV series. I do like that Kaworu is apparently coming into the series earlier, I thought that he was an intriguing character that could have maybe used more screen time. On the other hand I think the characters are missing the depth that they had in the series, at least by the end of the parts that the movie covers.
I would probably just tell someone interested in Evangelion to watch the TV series instead.

I glanced at your anime list and saw that you obviously weren't impressed with You are (Not) Alone. What did you think of it?

Finished EoE and I can tell that i'll probably have to rewatch NGE again and again. But, you know what? I don't have a problem with that at all.
EoE complemented the TV series ending very well in my opinion. Coming into this, I had no idea what was going to happen and was really surprised at the death and carnage of the first half alone. Some very poignant scenes were in the first half, Misato's death being one of them.
But, I think Asuka's fight scene needs to be mentioned. Not because of the excellent choreography, but because of the raw emotions she displayed throughout the battle: fear, rage, sadness, madness, and above all the will to survive. Pretty powerful stuff coming from a girl that had given up hope at one time.
In fact,it seems as though EoE was really about her and Shinji in the end. I mean, yeah, Rei and Misato had their moments but those two managed to come to terms with themselves on their own. Whereas, the Asuka and Shinji seem to have to rely on one another.
I actually enjoyed the second half of EoE, it does what the series does best: it gets into the heads of the characters. Not to mention, I thought the dialogue was top notch during Shinji's conversation with Rei and Kaworu.
Also, as odd as the ending may seem. I thought it was very fitting for Evangelion. I still wonder a little how Asuka survived or if maybe she was reborn. And, if that's the case couldn't Misato come back if she chose too?
Anyway, what did you think of EoE?

Just finished Neon Genesis Evangelion, It had a good ending, I thought. It's certainly different, but I understand what Anno and his team were going for. It was also surprisingly layered and I can tell you right now I will be revisiting the world of Eva soon. Now, I just have to watch EoE.
So, what were your thoughts on the second half? I personally thought it was some of the best anime i've seen with far with too many great moments to count. For example, I probably won't ever forget how shocked I was at Eva 01 eating that Angel or the pure mental anguish the characters go through, in particular Shinji and Asuka. Or, of course, the plot twist at the end of episode 23.
It was probably one of the easiest 10's i've given.

The thing that impressed me the most about Top wo Nerae was how well Anno and his team developed Noriko's character in 6 episodes. To me, she was far more developed than most characters in 26 episode series, I think that's quite a feat.
As for Eva, it has a fantastic cast, but I guess my favorite so far would be Asuka. Also, I was told time and time again how annoying Shinji is. But, I don't see it. I mean, he's a 14 year old kid stuck in an impossible situation so I think his initial reaction was believable.

Yeah, Furi Kuri surprised me. I'd seen it as a kid when I was a kid on Cartoon Network, but I don't remember it being as awesome as it was when I just watched it. I'm also watching Eva now(Gunbuster got me addicted to Gainax) and it is.. impressive. I've heard that Eva drew lots of inspiration from Gunbuster but it doesn't bother me, wierd. Maybe it is because Aono directed both?

Thanks for the comment on my mini-review of Diebuster.
Yeah, I definitely enjoyed it and I thought Nono was a good character. It's interesting that you mentioned FLCL, because i'm watching that now and enjoying it immensely. But, I do think that maybe I compared Diebuster a little to much with Gunbuster.
But, I can't really help that becaue Gunbuster left one hell of an impression on me.

Hey there, I had a random question. I noticed you just recently had a Dragon Ball movie watched, so you seemed like someone I could ask. For all of the DB movies, it says they are "alternative versions" to the original series, instead of side stories or something else on their pages. Do those 4 movies actually cover the whole DB series, like say how the Gundam movie trilogy covers all of MSG?
