Himawari Hinata recently transfered to Shinobi Gakuen to train to become the best kunoichi she can be. She wanted to be a ninja ever since she was saved by one when she was little. On her first day, she meets Hayato Madenokoji (a new transfer teacher) who saves her life. Hayato does not possess any ninja skills or traits, he is teaching the ninjas about normal society to pay off his debt. However, Himawari notices that Hayato bares the same mark on his neck as the ninja who saved her when she was young.

I had originally heard some bad things about this series and was actually recommended not to watch it, however, I'm glad I did.

Let me start of by warning you, this series is full of clichéd, over-used gags, a plot and storyline that is completely ridiculous and personalities and themes that we have all seen before. I'll start by mentioning everything that I didn't like about it, even though there weren't that many things actually...

First of all, like Naruto, the characters in this show aspire to become ninjas, however, to me, ninjas are dark-clothed assassins and spies who operate during the night, they don't skip and read more

It's a good light-hearted anime with lots of laughs. I especially like the wide range of unique characters with their unique attitudes. In particular, I like two of the Kunoichi... the Elf and the other one... hmmm... :)

While some of the story-lines can be typical, but the attitude of the characters and how events turn out made it a very good and fun anime to watch and "ENJOY".

I also like how the camera angles work--unique and non-typical, showing many scenes not usually shown in similar genre.

The conclusions for each episodes and whole story-line is a bit rough, but still a good anime for good laughs. read more

Anime: Upotte!!

Both have the same male teacher to female student arc.

Both male teachers found themselves teaching in some very wierd school and often found themselves getting into all kinds of trouble with the students.

The teacher in one anime has to be wary of one students whom he did something stupid to, while the other has to be wary of all students who were out to kill him except one who always saves his life.

Anime: Sumomomo Momomo: Chijou Saikyou no Yome
Two energetic girls are present as the main protagonist in these two series.

On the other hand, there's the main male protagonist who has a strange relationship with her. Throughout each episode, they show a deeper care for one another that borders on romance.

There are also other girls with different personalities as well but all have a passion for fighting and the ninja arts in both series. Although neither series are any special or great, they do pass the time with their comedy, drama, action, and amusing scenes.

Anime: Kage kara Mamoru!
In this comedy a ninja protects a clumsy moron they are in love with. But this time the ninja is the female and the clumsy moron is the male. Think of this anime with a role reversal. Same very cute romantic comedy of ninjas and their accident prone love interest.

Himawari protects her teacher whom she is CONVINCED is a skilled and wise master, in reality he is an incompetent boob but her love goggles won't let her see that.

Anime: Ninin ga Shinobuden
Himawari! is the more serious of the two, but it's still a comedy about a kunoichi in training.

Watch Himawari! if you want more bite in the story. If you like ninja nonsense and shenanigans galore however, 2x2 Shinobuden is the one to watch.
