Dark, twisted, tainted and through'n-through madness. If you are not a fan of dark humour and twisted jokes you will not enjoy this series.
But, if you do enjoy stories and gags which are just completely wrong, in every little way, then you will love this show, because it delivers encore upon encore of wretched, bizarre and just plain evil jokes and enjoyment. There is no overall plot really, the story revolves around the heroine, Punie Tanako, who is sent to the human world from her home-world of "Magic Land", to study and grow stronger so that she can eventually inherit the title of Queen. And
...
that's about it, the rest of the show is just glimpses of how the little girl deals with everyday life in the human world. So if you're hoping for an epic plot, you won't find it here.
What you will find however is great, great and once more, great characters. Punie is just the epitome of awesome in every possible way. Not only is she adorable and cute, but she's also so gruesomely dark and sinister, sadistic and cruel and just blatantly evil that you'll fall in love with her at first notice. This is aided when her murderous mascot (who very much would like to cut her throat) appears and adds even another layer of comedic madness to the show. You'll get to see Punie abuse her friends, mercilessly insult them without a second thought or concern for their feelings and of course, get to see her trademark wrestling/submission moves as she breaks joints and limbs recurringly.
The opening-theme and animation is also simply wonderful. The cheery tune and peppy beat makes for a nice contrast as we get to see the little hellraiser dance around while the background is set on fire, while smiling ever so innocently, almost laughing I would imagine.
The sound is clear and the voice-acting is fits in perfectly. You'll even find a certain audio-based gag in the episode where Anego (one of Punie's "friends") go on a date with a boy, if you listen close enough that is. The voices fit the characters very well, and as usual the seiyus have put emotion and effort into their characters, making them very enjoyable to listen to.
In conclusion, faint of heart should not watch this, and people who value their childhood dreams about fairy tales and magical kingdoms should also probably stay away. But everyone else, who likes to laugh, should definetely, without a doubt, watch this as soon as they can.

This is a silly comedy, as such it should be reviewed like that and this review will do just that.
A lot of people (here on MAL at least) seem to give Galxy Angel a low score due to it's "lack of a story and plot". This is true, as far as the show goes, there is no actual plot or red-thread that the story follows. The main element and driving force behind the show is the characters, who's mision is to search for items and things called Lost Technology, ancient things of power from the past (obviously). Here follows the difference in my own review

While Galaxy Angel does indeed not have a plot or any real storyline, but that's alright, it's actually fine. The show is a silly, cutesy-tootsie anime with five girls as the main characters, each with their own (perhaps a bit preditacble and stereotpyical) personalities and tastes. Their inter-group relationship may seem friendly and so at first glance, but if you have some intuition and actually pay attention, you can notice a lot of interesting, underlying rivarly and other goodies. The show has a very silly and exaggerated comedy-aspect and many of the jokes have been used before and probably better, still, there are parts of the show that *will* make you laugh.
What can you say about the sound, music and art then? You can't complain, there are shows out there who have far worse and the style fits perfectly with the show's theme of silly, easy-going comedy. Some might like the songs and soundtrack enough to actually buy the OST, gods know that the opening theme is so darn catchy, I still catch myself humming it occasionally. Which also brings to another good point, the OP is absolutely hilarious, it's so incoherent and stupid that if you don't crack a smile there's something seriously wrong with you (or you got a twig stuck up your butt).
Story? There's no story, there's a plot element: They are searching for Lost Technology but more oft than not they end up doing and getting into situations that have absolutely nothing to do with it at all. The characters consist of a gun-tooting tomboy with an overly large bust, a beautiful and flirtatious martial-artist, a kind-hearted and lucky dim-wit, a mature yet slightly mean loli-figure and of course, the token silent-girl who seems to be some sort of creepy pseudo-monk who worships a really strange, rotating device in her room (It's awesome!).
All in all, a lot of people unfairly rate Galaxy Angel for it's plotless and senseless story, but I really don't think that's the major problem. The show is a silly, exaggerated comedy and you can't really expect any high-rate scripts and well-written stories for those, now can you? Give it a try if you're looking for a good laugh and some minutes of enjoyment. Each episode is only 15 minutes anyway so you could easily finish all, or half, the series in just one go if you'd like. I certainly recommend this show and it was actually so enjoyable that I'll go on to watch all the other seasons as well, just for the laughs.

I was half worried when I started watching this show that I'd end up dropping it halfway due to some negative feedback I'd gotten from others who'd watched it. However, I found myself surprisingly entertained and enjoying the show enough to actually keep myself watching it fully through.
Things I didn't like include the two openings, I always get ticked off when a series changes it's opening credits halfway through the show and when it changes to a peppy, jamaican reggae-esque song it gets even worse. The first opening wasn't that good anyway, but luckily they changed back to it in the final episode (nice surprise!).

Another, though not really that important matter, is the fact that the main character, Masane, seems to have magic implants that changes the size of her bust from episode to episode, or sometimes even from scene to scene. Other then that I can't really complain about much. Oh, except for the mouths of the characters, somehow they sometimes felt odd and off in some way.
Things I did like were numerous. I enjoyed the characters, even if some of them were slightly cliché, like Chou being a pervy old man and Mariko being the fat, grumpy land lady obsessing with money. The humour in the show is atleast entertaining and there isn't really that much focus on fan-service, sure, in Witch-form Masane's outfit is oddly cut and cleaved the fight-scenes never last that long anyway so it doesn't really matter. The storyline has some fun plot-twists and though you can guess yourself to some of them, atleast I was a bit surprised at times, then again I'm not particularly bright so it's not surprising I guess.
Things I'm staying neutral to are the fight-scenes. Allthough Masane and the Neogene-sisters have weird, oddly shaped outfits and seem to enter orgasm whenever they fight, the fights never go on for especially long periods of times and to some this might be bad and feel like the show is lacking, but I personally prefer short, decisive battles that don't span multiple episodes and making up 25% of the entire season.
The music then? Well, apart from the two different openings I didn't like, I can say that the battle-theme is quite nice. Oh sure it's pepped up and the "singer" is just making breath-noises, but I still found it enjoyable whenever it went on, a very fitting piece of music for the show. And if you don't agree then stick a pinecone up your butt 'cuz I don't care!
Now, to sum things up neatly. The show is fun and engaging enough to keep you interested to atleast complete watching it, maybe not enough so to make you run a marathon and watch it in an all-out-sitting, but you'll definetly want to finish it if you start. The ending is, in my opinion, fitting and good and though I was expecting a cheesy, happy cop-out I was happily surprised. Some of the humour is good and enjoyable, aswell as the show not doing any unnecessary boob-jokes, thankfully. Overall I like Witchblade and would say you atleast give it a try, the makers probably aimed for something dark and serious but didn't quite make it, though that's not necessarily a bad thing in my mind. Give it a shot, you'll entire enjoy it enough to see it through or get bored and drop it quickly.

I'll start of by stating that the series is based on an eroge, that alone should've prepared me for what I saw, and in some ways it did, however, being the bastard that I truly am, I still feel the urge to lunge at this show with the critic's lumber axe of death and despair.
Going over everything that was bad about this show would surely take up alot of space, not to mention leave a bitter taste in your mouth and making you believe I've got nothing better to do than complain, which is sadly true... Anyway! The show is pretty much your average lovey-dove

magical girl high school comedy-romance, filled with cliché characters, situations and dialogue and/or actions. Basically our heroine is a petit, flat-chested but-oh-so-cute shy and kindhearted person. Our hero is a glasses-wearing, somewhat buff and well-sculpted, bad haircut, anti-social douchebag who seems to have severe issues with his parents considering the fact that you never actually get to see them even once. The plot then? Nothing I'll even waste time on telling you, you can pretty much guess what it's about from the title anyway. The plotline is really unoriginal and you can guess the outcome of nearly every episode, not to mention the music constantly reminding us of what mood we should be in. Also, the animators seemed lazy and though it's common I suppose it still bugs me whenever I see the same lazy animation-clip re-used over and over. The show's sweet and cute and has most of the time a happy feeling about it. There's a lot more I could whine about but by now you've probably lost interest anyway, so I'll move on.
The good things about this show is, despite it's unoriginality it still kept me watching. This might be because I got to see a living sheep-plushie have a bath in the all-girls' bath at some summer camp, but I'm guessing that's not all, or else I feel sorry for myself. It's got some fun moments and even though I've seen most, well all, of the jokes before, I still can't help myself to cracking a smile and laughing at some of them. The show's sweet and cute and has most of the time a happy feeling about it, sensitive types might find the sad moments sad too I suppose.
Music and sound were, as usual, good and all but nothing that was exceptional or will make you line up or order the Original Soundtrack or Drama CD from Japan.
Summarisation, already here? Who cares, you've stopped reading anyway! It's an unoriginal, cliché-filled, predictable and happy love-story which actually reminds you of most Hollywood-made films. It's not bad, some jokes are fun and what not, but it's nothing new or exciting really and most viewers will probably yawn or sigh about as often as they'll laugh and smile or cry, well, if you cry when watching this then you're a complete wuss and I'll hunt you down with a lawnmower!
... Seriously, if you get teary-eyes from this I'll come around and smack you with a rolled up newspaper!

I had originally heard some bad things about this series and was actually recommended not to watch it, however, I'm glad I did.
Let me start of by warning you, this series is full of clichéd, over-used gags, a plot and storyline that is completely ridiculous and personalities and themes that we have all seen before. I'll start by mentioning everything that I didn't like about it, even though there weren't that many things actually...
First of all, like Naruto, the characters in this show aspire to become ninjas, however, to me, ninjas are dark-clothed assassins and spies who operate during the night, they don't skip and

run around in colorful outfits, being loud and noisy or using modern-time weapons such as machineguns and/or bazookas. Secondly, one of the characters called Yusura, who is utterly adorable and cute in every way, quickly uses up her endurability by always having an incompetent and unrelated animal-reference to nearly every event that occurs. Also, the Team Rocket-wannabees (though enjoyable) feel somewhat like a cheap rip-off.
Things I'm indifferent to is the artwork and the music, yes, it's got nice animation and sometimes they shift it to the less serious style, but it's good enough to pass your standards like most shows. The music? Nothing special or particularly catchy, but nothing annoying or ear-numbing either.
Moving on to the good things now.
I'll be the first to admit, I truly and honestly enjoy shameless comedic gaggery, and this show has a lot it, and I mean a lot. Also, I've never before seen a show that made such a brilliant joke out of the phrase "Oh My God!". Secondly, the characters, sure they're stupid, cliché and in every aspect unoriginal, but this is what makes the show fun, because you know they're all these things and can just sit back and enjoy the idiocy. Also, a plus on this show is that even though it has a romantic element, it doesn't overplay and shift from comedy to romance/drama like many other shows, which is probably why I liked it so much. Some gags are perhaps used a bit too often and yes, it's a cheerful and sorrowless anime, but it works well despite this.
So, how to summarise this? Well, the plot is weak and unoriginal, it feels like you're watching a very much improved and distant cousin to Naruto and it's full of clichés and overused jokes. However, it also contains moments of (in my experience) high comedic quality and if you start watching it I'll guarantee one pair of my own boxers that you'll be hooked, laugh and watch it through 'til the end. It's a fun, easy-going show, good for a few laughs and only up-tight blockheads with "sophisticated" humor would be able to not crack a smile at this series.
In any case, I liked Himawari! and anyone who wants a cheap laugh should probably have a look at it aswell, and if you don't find it funny then feel free to come on over to my house and beat the living snot out of me with a trout!

To start off this review I should probably say right from the start that I'm not a huge mecha-fan, so don't come hunting me down with pitchforks and torches if I somehow offend some of you hardcore fans.
Right then, Code Geass, a mecha-series taking place in Japan(Area 11), where else? Let's start this going over everything that I didn't like about the series, so we can save the good stuff for the end. First of all, this isn't a spoiler and you'll see this in the first episode, but mecha-machines with jetpowered inline-skates somehow doesn't really cut it for me... Secondly, some of the characters

in the series are really annoying, and I mean truly, honest-to-whatever-deity-you-praise annoying. We got the idealistic goody-two-shoes who wants to save everyone, the weak, confused and uncertain nuisance and some others who are just, or go, blatantly and frustratingly insane in an unamusing way. Also, some of the weapons are quite "over the top", but I suppose that's common for this type of genre.
Now, on to the stuff that wasn't bad! First of all, you got to love the main character no matter what, truly the main reason to watch the series is simply to see him act and think. There's also the fact that the story plotwise is engaging and interesting, aswell as dealing with many fun things, such as racism and patriotism (don't get me wrong, I don't support any of those things). The humor in the show is also quite enjoyable at times, especially the shamless, comedic gaggery that has absolutely no plot-significance, like the cat-biting jokes. The artwork is stylish and well done and the sound is of good quality. I can't say too much about the music, there wasn't anything that caught my intention like in some other shows, but then again none of the music bothered me, so it was alright.
So what's the summary of all this then? Well, if you like robots that war with eachother, people making up schemes and some humor mixed up somewhat then you'll probably want to watch this show. However, it wouldn't surprise me if you end up hating half of the characters and would be very happy to see them launched out of a cannon into the sun. And if the creators of the show intended to get me sucked in and force me to sit around on my butt waiting for the next season then mission bloody accomplished I suppose. Overall, it's not a bad series and there are moments of true brilliance, but some things could have been left out, or removed entirely, to make it alot better.
