This stack series does not include:
- donghua (aka Chinese anime, categorised under ONA)
- anime with modern romance only (ie. blue box, kimi ni todoke)
- FL doing normal things (ie. K-On [school band], Saki [mahjong])
- OVAs
- Movies
- Males who gender swap back and forth throughout the show (ie. Kämpfer)
- Card battle - centred anime (ie. Selector Infected WIXOSS)


The stack includes:
- FL with primary links to fantasy, isekai, adventure, magic, supernatural, sci-fi, and or action.
- FL who has either superpowers / magic ability / is badass / OP / a mysterious ability / fighting skills / hidden past
- Spinoffs under the same franchise that primarily focus on the FL (ie. Luck and Logic franchise)
- A non-primary FL who plays a prominent role (one that impacts the storyline) in the anime
- Males who reincarnate into a female and stayed that way (ie. Youjo Senki)
