Honestly, this is gutter trash at its worst. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. At least some ecchi anime at least have good animation and sexy scenes, while this is a trainwreck that uses 3D models for pretty much EVERYTHING that moves even slightly, perhaps some things that don’t move too. I am very surprised with just how low an anime can fall, the word ”pathetic” barely even begins to sum up how horrible it is.
The manga had great art, fast pace, no unnecessary scenes or drama, lots of ecchi and it felt so lighthearted that even the abuse felt ok even though I’m more
...
of a sadist, because he didn’t feel as offensive as some doormat mcs, at least he’s got balls and gets stepped on because he likes it, not because he’s a wimp.
Then enter the anime, some of the worst art I’ve ever seen in an anime with incredibly clear overuse of choppy and ugly 3D animated models (budget much?), messy and dragged out pace due to added drama and more ”political correctness”, hell, they changed a lot of parts completely and focused far too much on forced, artificial and horribly written drama, the writers for this are incredibly untalented. The ecchi is quite toned down and far worse due to bad art, it’s far from as lighthearted and fast paced, the mc feels more like a true abuse victim, ends up being written as a true wimp and doormat and the girls end up seeming far harsher due to the voice actors’ intonations and even newor changed dialogue lines.
I detest the anime. It’s a train wreck, purely irredeemable gutter trash. It does everything wrong, not a single element is praiseworthy. Music, sfx, art, story, voice acting… It’s rare that everything ends up so wrong. It’s as if this is a joke to them. Clearly it’s just an attempt to grab some cash with zero love given to it. The manga is at least readable, although the story sucks there too, it’s made up for by the art, ecchi, cool scenes and pace that never stops for more than the bare minimum of drama and the characters are likable enough.
Don’t waste your time, read the manga instead if the setting intrigues you.

To me, this wasn't really worth watching, not even as background noise. Yet, I can't bring myself to hate it, it's just so incredibly unremarkable. It's not funny, it's not exciting, it's not interesting, it's not annoying, it's not irritating, it's just dreadfully monotone. Everyone talking in slow motion, nothing even remotely creative happening, the low-quality animation...
It has literally nothing whatsoever to offer to my tastes. It's supposed to be a relaxing comedy or something along those lines, but I personally simply do not understand how the jokes are supposed to be funny. I can see where the jokes are told, but every single one
...
falls flat to the super slow paced, monotone story and voices. Nothing happens, even compared to other slice of life stories, this one is so incredibly uneventful, filled with cheesy and unimaginative jokes at best.
I can't bring myself to recommend this to anyone, but at the same time I believe some people out there will enjoy this complete lack of pace and it's so damn unoffensive, or rather just unremarkable in every way, that I won't give it a lower score than this. It's bad, but I managed to power through it as background noise.
What makes me most surprised is how they could possibly make 50 episodes of this. Maybe they just went on with it since it was relatively easy work with all the super stiff animals and often simple animals, they barely even move even compared to other anime and a lot of them look the same.

This was so fundamentally horrible that I just couldn't resist writing a review to recommend people not to watch it. I usually just write reviews for novels as far more time is dedicated to read through a novel and you truly get to get immersed in everything the story has to offer compared to the short-lived and often disappointing format of anime adaptations.
This is... really, it's almost infuriatingly bad, yet you're left feeling more melancholic about how this garbage had resources wasted on it instead.
The music is crap. The setting is badly executed. The characters can't make you give a single f*ck, not even
...
one of them. The story is just childish at best and the animation feels both low budget and low skill.
We have the protagonist, the dude lacking both will and motivation, who spends every day preaching how abandoning responsibility is great and clearly having no idea of his own worth, not even telling his "hero" sister that he was leaving because the most idiotic in the party chased him away. Now he just spends his time in some godforsaken land where he aims to be an apothecary and live every day the same.
Then we have the big boobs that somehow found him there and forcibly moved in with no warning. This girl loves him and they quickly start flirting, kissing, hugging and whatever. We get some tiny snippets of backstory every now and then. Overall, she's also a boring character we have no incentive to like and that doesn't act human in the least.
Go on and we have various villagers who are only there to be hurt, healed and be friendly. Not a single one of them has even half decent character development, they might as well be villager A and B.
Villains in this story are either instantly finished off or easily screw themselves over, none of them appear particularly evil or interesting. Even demons are either soulless shells or morons that just seem to be yet another stupid human.
His sister, the hero, and the entire hero party are also cardboard cutouts. The foolish half-evil but mainly stupid sage who apparently want to get into the hero's pants or something, some emotionless add-on heroes and then the hero herself, the emotionless brocon who can't do what she wants because the oh-so horrible blessing dictates she be a hero without feelings, completely unappealing.
There's nothing happening in this story. Nothing. Just some forced events. It's painfully slow, every episode seems to be filler, nothing interesting happens and worst of all, none of the characters have anything resembling a soul, it's not funny in any way nor does it even have a real story. We don't get any build up, imagine suddenly starting an anime at the end of a story and just showing some filler episodes of the after-story.
We're supposed to care about the characters with just some words. Life sucks for this guy because he doesn't have a good blessing, this girl is awesome because she likes the protagonist and has big boobs, this hero is pitiful because her blessing actually secretly sucks. He's done so much to deserve this now slow life. Nah, sorry, it doesn't work like that. If you don't show us gradually why we should like them and build their characters up by the actions they take, no one is going to care about them. This is a story of side characters that aren't explained properly, it's just shoved down our throat.
Adding insult to injury, these characters are basically unlikable from the get go. They don't show much in the way of emotion, not a single one of them. All of them are painfully robotic in everything they do. The animation makes a great job of emphasizing their soullessness by being horribly bland, there's no real change in expressions, people are just static dolls, even supposedly emotional scenes are ruined by crap skills. They don't even properly animate a lot of stuff, like just making fluctuating brightness values for almost static candles, not showing movements, instead just the end position, cutting out most parts and for things like lightning, they just phase in and out 1-2 frames of yellow light at high value rapidly, it also does stuff like just moving around a static hand on a static map, not even changing lighting or perspective slightly. Everyone moves like some damn sloths at best. Truly, the animation serves to make this already bland show a disaster piece of shit, I didn't realize just how shit things could get if BOTH story and animation was this bad.
Can only believe this was written as some escapist fantasy by yet another overworked japanese dude or just someone jumping on the bandwagon of that cliché. The blessings are just a shoutout to people's talents and fates to usually just be a cog in society and the protagonist is simply a burned out dude who has given up on life and is now avoiding reality. Not sure about the studio, but if this is their usual quality, they should shut down or boot most of the staff and hire people that actually know what they're doing and doesn't do everything they can to cut down on everything that makes an anime an anime, that is, animation.
Not recommended, ever. This isn't a 7/10 show, this is a 5/10 show by skewed myanimelist rating standards, 2/10 or 3/10 at most by normal standards.

Sigh, tricked by the score. Here I thought it was something special because of how much attention it has clearly been getting.
It was a bit painful to watch this trainwreck right from episode 1. Don't get me wrong, the animation quality, sound, VA wasn't bad at all. It was great. The problem is the story, seemingly a lot of people think that cute girls and action can justify such horrible writing.
This anime is a mish-mash of clichés, cute girls doing cute things, stupidly illogical gunfights and one of the worst secretive organizations I've ever had the displeasure to be exposed to. It's idiotic on so
...
many levels.
We have the secretive organization that trains orphaned kids so that we can have high school/middle school girls(for some reason pretty much exclusively cute girls) running around with guns while using school uniforms and skirts while fighting crimes to pretend to be a part of the public. Oh, and of course they all use the same uniform all the time outside, as if to scream at enemies to attack them, so much for secrecy. These girls actively kill terrorists everywhere and "make japan safe and peaceful". I guess guys just aren't cut out for this(though the male version does show up in a minor version in an antagonistic fashion, they're still just kids though, stupid that there's an all female and an all male faction). Also, I guess immature kids in the midst of their teens(or preteens) are so damn well suited to special ops, they're not even well disciplined. Also, I guess adults just aren't fit for this either, gotta have cute, below 18 females, can't have any guys that aren't old and not a possible target for romance. This secretive organization is also so high-profile that there's no way it'd be a secret, it's run as if the leaders have shit for brains. There's clearly no proper structure.
Then, of course, the super hacker, the best in the world, is a cute little loli that appears 10-12. I was of the impression from the dialogue that this person was present since long ago but I guess not, her reputation is insane, maybe she started using her laptop to hack stuff while in her mother's womb. Overall, she just acts like a typical cliché loli, except she's "sooo smart and collected". As usual the "hacking" is her playing it like it's a game, literally, even including game graphics and mechanics. photo analystics are 1 button auto, she can get everything she wants easily. Not a smidgen of realism.
The other girls also act like typical high school girls in anime. Honestly, I can't stand the two main character girls. The black haired one show barely any emotions and is so stuck in her ways and inflexible it just makes her boring. The other platinum/blonde haired girl is the COMPLETE opposite. She's so high paced, hyper and my paced that she makes someone with actual ADHD look very normal and calm. I really dislike her moronic outbursts, extremely exaggerated expressions and gestures and I also hate that she refuses to kill people despite the kind of organization she is in and how dangerous the situations are, nothing more moronic than using non-lethal means that doesn't even knockout people properly, she's basically she's bringing a banana to a knifefight. Another thing about her, I just don't buy her ability to 100% avoid any and all bullets. Even rapid fire is avoided like it's nothing. I can kinda buy avoiding slow handgun fire by predicting the trajectory from the barrel position and hand movement, but what she is doing is a pure supernatural ability and that doesn't even explain how she can avoid strafing fire where there's no room to evade...
These character templates aren't too bad normally, but the issue is that they're trying to bring seriousness into what is clearly a cute girls doing cute things anime. They fit more into a school setting.
I've rarely seen animes that are so bad that I just feel the desire to drop them all the time. Anime that suck from the first few minutes all the all the way to the end.
I fail to see what the hype was about. This is just plain bad, the 3/10 rating is just for the good animation/VA/Sound. I regret watching this.

I almost couldn't finish this. Not sure why some people like it, though it seems a lot of the people are just fans of the OVAs that I haven't watched. Maybe if I was younger and less tempered by countless anime, manga and novels from different countries, I might've enjoyed this more. Maybe. Or perhaps it's just not for me? Though I'm sure I would've loved it as a kid.
I really can't stand this anime. The story is dreadful, so many question marks about the story. The characters are all boring and seem to be one-dimensonal, they stick too rigidly to their personality quirks, they
...
lack the flexibility of any human being, which makes them seem forced and artificial. In other words, way too simple.
What I can't stand the most is the protagonist. She's a prime example of an overdone ADHD character and I'm using that knowing perfectly well what it signifies. She has the attention span of a goldfish and the hyperactivity and silliness or plain stupidity of a husky. She runs around doing stupid crap 24/7, putting her life at risk, thanking people who almost get her killed, screwing simple things up by acting like a spoiled toddler, just in the first few episodes we're treated to things like her not researching how to get to school, almost getting them killed by not throwing away some salty food, jumping in front of something akin to a magic bullet instead of talking, running around trying to cast spells loudly with no idea how to, making a huge joke of herself over and over again, just not learning from being burned, screaming her lungs out repeating herself when the broom spell doesn't work instead of listening to the teacher's advice and so on. She's nothing but a walking joke.
Do people REALLY find loudmouth super hyper fools to be funny? Is it because she's a girl so it's supposed to appeal to people who like the cute girls doing cute things stuff? Thing is, those animes work because there is no danger, there is no need to care about anything and no getting shamed either and even then they're usually not this hyper or stupid... Screaming and running around doing stupid crap is funny, right? If that's the level we're going for, comedy suddenly became real damn simple. I'm not actually asking her to be very smart or calm/collected, just want her to not act like a nutcase with questionable brain status and a body on hard drugs. Hell, this would've been more bearable if only they focused on some things instead of trying to cover a lot. How about not making the world dangerous and bring into play issues like borderline bullying and class/status conflicts. I mean, if you want to make an airheaded character like this, at least make the scenario/world setting fit her so that it doesn't come across as plain annoying.
The art isn't even particularly good, it feels like they wanted to go for a good visual experience with lots of cool visual effects but ended up half-assing it due to budget and time constraints so everything just looks rushed.
It's really a question mark to me why people like this. Perhaps it would be fairly enjoyable if the protagonist could be a happy go lucky girl that, while fairly hyper, happy and outgoing, actually thinks with her brain as well and doesn't repeatedly and actively make a fool of herself. A character that can stop herself from acting on impulse 24/7 like some kind of a f*king animal. Even your typical beast would act more wise and intelligent than her, at least they wouldn't actively jump into a blazing fire that couldn't be more obvious.
So, yeah, this might be a wet dream kind of anime for kids and younger teens might also enjoy it immensely, but I really wonder about loving it as an adult who values story and characters to at least some extent.

This is truly a mixed bag. It's a "movie" that makes me feel it was somehow way too rushed yet also way too slow. After the mere 80 or so minutes, barely anything happened, it's literally the content usually covered in 1 episode of normal anime, maybe at most 2, but it'd be just about a single event rather than anything that deserves to be called a "full story". Thus, it feels rushed because things are just getting started and then, after seemingly nothing really happened, it just ends right at the point where you feel "damn, this is the real start of the story,
...
the prologue is done!". Yet it was so slow because every scene was needlessly dragged out. Pausing for no reason, playing a long "cutscene" with music and just overall incredibly slow conversations. It added to the mood but it would get me fed up after several hours if it kept going that way, yet somehow it ended after only 80 minutes at the point where, due to how slow everything was, nothing had happened except for what felt like the content of 1 episode dragged out.
Another point is that the show felt quite simple. Some people praise it to the high heavens and perhaps it was a true masterpiece at 1995, but now it's really nothing special. The art, while great for its time, is now somewhat dated and not fluent. The overall idea of the "futuristic tech" isn't really so futuristic anymore, many things exist or at least we've read about this stuff at least a hundred times if not more in novels, anime, manga, games or whatever else. Yes, that's right, I called it very simple. The idea it wants to convey and the way it's going about it is so barebones it feels utterly lacking. While it doesn't explain anything at all during the show, it's very easy to understand what's going on thanks to having experienced similar settings over and over again. It brings nothing new at all to the table. While the mood is good and intense, it's also not much more than that. There's a severe lack of emotions, the characters all feel kind of dead/soulless, their reactions underplayed and conversations tepid.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the setting and I found the idea fascinating and quite cool, but it has two flaws that are incredibly big. The first is that it lacks some passion, not action but rather it lacks life and the feeling that things actually matter, it lacks a proper punch, something to make me feel truly immersed, something to make me care. The second thing it sorely lacks is plot and story, which is pretty much related to its length but also the previous point in how it lacks some steam and pace. Things are kept very simple, explanations are at a ridiculous minimum, the characters barely talk at all and when they do, it's dragged out needlessly for "extra dramatic effect". How do you want me to care what happens when you don't inform me of the situation? When things just happens? It just makes me feel disconnected from the story. Another point here is that if this was perhaps 3 hours long, it would probably be able to make for a more satisfying experience. After 80 minutes when it suddenly ends, I was left in disbelief at how abruptly it ended just as things were supposed to be getting started. A HUGE change and now she's about to roam the world or something and BOOM <Insert ending credits here>. I mean, geez. It's like some kind of a tease. Just at the first climax it stops completely, leaving me more confused and wanting to know what'll happen from now on than anything else. It was, no doubt, just a prologue. This entire movie is simply one big prologue, nothing really happens and we just get an initial explanation and idea of what's up, the only thing wrong is that chapter 1 to 100 is missing and we're left with just a damn prologue.
I hope that the stand alone complex will greatly expand upon this and let me know what happens AFTER this movie ended. I want to see some badassery and real story, not just an animated striptease that never goes all the way. I will be very disappointed if the anime doesn't work on how things go after the movie ended. I also hope the pace changes somewhat and the characters become more lively and the story better.
The overall ends up at 7 for good sound, good mood, pretty nice characters and very good art for its time. Sadly, the story is underwhelming as nothing much really happened and nothing connects properly and my enjoyment would be a 5 for mediocre. It's definitely watchable and unusual but not something I'd watch again. Loved the idea, disliked the execution. Here I go, stand alone complex, show me that the potential can be excavated! Not extremely optimistic about the chances though. I don't like how they changed her whole image, seems to put too much emphasis on sex appeal and she seems less like a cyborg and more like a normal human. Can't judge before seeing it though... Still, those almost duck-level lips feel jarring.

Haaaah... Started watching this anime because I like these types of fluffy, silly cute girls doing cute things animes for some breaks after reading some serious stories.
I thought that, hey, 7/10, that's a pretty decent score for an anime like this, must be good enough, right? Usually shows like this rarely get anything but a score below 7/10 even if they're watchable enough.
But no, it's truly amazing how stupid this anime was. It was so stupid that I felt like just dropping it halfway into episode 1. But I gave it a chance and ended up having it on in the background while reading something
...
else(you know, one window with a novel and another with the video side by side). Being good at multitasking, I didn't miss much and it would've been hard to miss anything substantial in an anime like this.
I must say that I'm very surprised by how far some people could go in their pathetic attempt to make money from some special audiences. I like cute girls doing cute things animes, but this is another thing altogether. They're no longer cute girls doing cute things, they're morons doing retarded things and acting in obnoxiously cutesy ways, as if trying to rub it in our faces that they're soo cute. It ends up being so overdone that it feels excessively forced instead of somewhat natural. It's clearly that none of the characters in this anime has an IQ above that of a roadside rock, though at least the rock has the decency of not being in your face, instead lying quietly by the side of the road.
The writers of this little brain cell killer masquerading as a proper anime seems to be making a sport out of thinking up the best way in which to make the characters act incredibly stupid and "cute". Things like them sticking out their tongues for no reason, smiling and jumping around, saying stupid shit, acting out and pretending to be cute in excessive ways is standard fare here. They do incredibly illogical and forced things to seem cute, which ends up making them obnoxious instead as it's just too overdone in a way that it feels very unnatural. As if the authors didn't care at all, just trying to throw in whatever stupid idea they thought of at the moment to make them act cute. It's cringeworthy to say the least.
Seriously... Also, can someone tell me how the big monster/demon with a male voice and pretty much male body and face somehow turned into a tiny little loli after being sent back in time? What do you have to do to turn from a loli into that?
Really, things are so damn stupid in this anime. It's not an enjoyable experience to watch it at all. Please don't watch it if you feel like normal cute girls doing cute things anime are kinda overdone and stupid even if they're enjoyable nonetheless, because this is even more overdone and stupid, to the point where I almost found it offensive, it felt as if the creators were trying to taunt me and insult my intelligence by pretending that this is watchable. Truly pathetic how they even released this thing.
But who knows, maybe you just like things that are incredibly moronic and has no sense whatsoever with characters that makes stupid people look like geniuses. Or you're a kid, then go right ahead. It's fully of nonsense that doesn't need any understanding, colorful artwork with hyperactive girls going gyaa gyaa over everything.

Well, this thing was overhyped. Rather, I think the original novel is really good, probably, but the anime suffers from two major faults that completely ruins the experience for me.
The first is the seeming lack of necessary details to make the watcher feel immersed. Probably, like usual, this was skipped as it's an anime and they need to cut down on everything, but I feel like details and extra side plots would be very important for this anime. It left the story feeling way worse than it should.
The second part that ruins it the most for me is actually the art style. The males are
...
fine enough but the females are atrocious. It's very, very hard for me to take a loli with duck lips seriously. The LN version was way, way, way better, in which she looked properly crazy yet good and "normal" in a way. But the anime butchers this image completely with duck lips as big as most characters' eyes. Doesn't make it better that these lips constantly change in size depending on scene, it's horrifying.
As for Visha, what the heck's up with that? How do you expect me to feel immersed and take things seriously when the girl looks like her father was a moomin and her mother was a moeblob anime girl? I've never seen the likes of it, it looks like she'd fit in an anime for toddlers at best. Rather, can you even call that human? She's either a moomin in disguise or a humanoid slime, but sadly it all comes down to just bad art. Also, look at the original LN illustrations, there is literally, and I mean LITERALLY, no resemblance whatsoever. They're entirely different characters, the visha in the LN looks nice and fitting with the image she's supposed to have, it gives soul to her character and a good mood to the story, meanwhile the anime version is an out of place moomin.
Art matters. Especially in a story like this where things are supposed to be badass, awesome and serious. Then it matters A LOT. Could you take hellsing seriously if alucard turned into a teenage twerp twilight vampire with sparkles all over him? Of course not.
Still, while these flaws ruined the show for me, I still managed to watch it all, probably because the plot itself intrigued me and there was some pretty badass scenes that somehow wasn't completely ruined by the art. If I had read the LN, I would probably just drop this at the first episode because then I'd know the story already and how it was supposed to be and I would be pissed because they ruined the characters by transforming them into monstrosities, but since I haven't, I could somehow enjoy this a bit, it wasn't a complete waste. But if the LN comes out translated, I wouldn't even recommend watching this at all. How it got such high ratings is completely beyond me. It's a 6.5-7/10 star show(which means it's at best average), not an 8+/10 star show(which pretty much only top shows get).

I don't even fully know what to say about this trainwreck. As much as I love the original novel and its humongous after story, this is just too horrible for words.
It's not at the level of being bad at one thing or two things, this piece of sh*t is just horrible all across the board. It's nothing but an insult to the original work and raising the middle finger to every fan out there, it should've never existed and they should be ashamed of themselves for trying to earn money from a good novel with an adaptation that has absolutely no soul or effort in
...
it at all. If there was ever an attempt to just milk money from someone's success, this is it right here, can't get closer than that.
I'll just go across why I despise it so much.
The story is twisted, it's not truly the same story anymore, things have been added that shouldn't be there and ruins the story. That's a big taboo for any adaptation unless there are very special circumstances or done very welll.
The art... don't even get me started, what's up with the art in this anime adaptation? Things look like they were drawn by a newbie anime fan who just got into drawing and can't keep things consistent or adhere to basic anatomy, things just change shape all the time and the characters look horrible. As for the monsters... Wow, I cringed so hard I fell off my chair when I saw them. I just couldn't stop face palming for several minutes. That alone wouldn't ruined the show completely even if every other part was good, it's just that bad.
The sound isn't tactically placed nor are the sounds good in the first place. It adds to making everything feel so bad I couldn't even laugh anymore.
The characters are screwed up and twisted as well, I don't feel like they're truly the same characters I know like my right hand from reading the novel and manga adaptations.
So, it's just plain horrible. It's probably one of, if not THE most, horrible anime adaptation I've ever seen. They didn't even try and shouldn't have been allowed to do the anime adaptation(actually, it'd be even worse if they did try, if that's the case I wonder why they're even trying to make anime when they should go back to the basics). I bet the author cringed and severely regretted his choice to allow them to do so after seeing the result. It's so bad I actually feel sorry for him, no one deserves to have their work that they put their soul into being butchered like this. I know for one I'd wish I could sue their pants off if I was in the same situation... and I'm not even american, but some things cross the line.
Watch this only if you want to see how a truly bad anime looks so that you can appreciate the normal half-baked stuff.

This anime really butchered all the good parts about the novel. The first season was pretty good, the second season was so-so but still managed to include most of the important parts despite many flaws, but this season was horrible if you've read the novel because it's impossible to not compare them.
The first few episodes were decent enough and did a decent job of showing volume 8, albeit missing many parts and exchanging stuff that shouldn't have been exchanged. But things went south from there. It's very obvious, painfully so, that they wanted to force themselves to cram 3 volumes worth of material into
...
13 episodes without actually being able to do so. This resulted in cuts everywhere. So many good parts were ruined.
The art were also average at best, the monsters here generally resembled kids anime ones, be it neuronist, the trolls or the naga who all looks severely lacking in so many ways. They have no details whatsoever, as if the animators just didn't care to give any effort on the matter and made them as plain as possible. Simple colors that might as well have been filled in with a paint bucket tool and without any real features to them. It really removes from entertainment when something that is supposed to be cool is reduced to a children's monster drawing. They also conveniently excluded things like the soul eater mounts for the last battle, not to mention that instead of summoning 500 monsters and entering in a cool way, he came with just a handful ones. It's so disappointing I don't even know where to start, everything is ridiculously underwhelming and there's no sense of immersion whatsoever because everything was dumbed down to oblivion.
As for the parts that were ruined other than the last battle, let's just mention a few things like how almost all the cool and interesting scenes were removed to save time and if they weren't, they were so toned down that they should've just removed them altogether if they weren't going to do it properly. Things gets worse after the first few episodes when they start to rush everything. Enri and company's dinner and events when visiting nazarick were completely glossed over, ainz suddenly finds himself in the capital of the empire without any prior notice and then he's just suddenly hired by the adventurer teams without a proper set-up, then we skip his mock battle with the worker and instantly teleport to nazarick and the entire journey inside was extremely boring as people just died pretty much instantly, chatting between characters are skipped and so are many events leading up to their deaths, we just quickly get teleported around to each individual as they meet their ends without explanation on the matter. Ainz first meeting with fluder, which was originally pretty cool, was summarized in hindsight in a few seconds of animation at the end of an episode without any of the dialogue.
They're essentially butchering the original content completely until we're left with only the absolute main parts of the story, the bare minimum required to make any sense whatsoever and move the story forward. This leaves us with a lackluster anime that lacks everything it should have. It lacks the character development, it lacks the interesting parts, it's void of everything and anything that made overlord a good story. At this point, it's just a dumbed down piece of garbage that isn't worth watching even if you loved the overlord novel. It's not immersive, it's not interesting, the art is skimped on, the story is rushed and even an average anime would do a better job at being interesting and entertaining.
If they can't do it properly with 3 volumes for a 13 episode season, they should cut it down to 2 volumes for a 13 episode season, that way they can include the things that actually makes this into a story instead of just a lackluster and subpar isekai story that barely has anything in common with the overlord novel except for the characters and the overarching plot developments. The plot points are there(like this or that happened), but everything that was supposed to flesh it out is missing. It's like a human without any organs or a pizza without any toppings, essentially just the framework, the dough. Everything that makes it good isn't here.
It's sad when adaptations screw things up to this extent. Not even someone who hasn't read the novel would feel like this is good enough to watch because it simply lacks anything compelling and unique about it, rather, it's subpar to the normal stuff you find everywhere.
Oh, I'll just quickly mention that the overall art is horrible in more ways than just being of shitty single colors, the choppy low-quality 3d crap is ruining WAY too much of the cool moments by looking like trash. This show truly failed in every way imaginable. Screams of cutting the budget in every way imaginable. Season 2 was horrible, but this took it to another level of bad. It defecates on the original story and everything it should be in order to grab some easy cash because people like the novel and the first season was a great success...
