After watching the last episode, I'm a little disappointed and back with an updated review.

I'm have watched the entire series including both Season 1 and 2. So I'm under that assumption you watched Season 1.

Story 8/10
First off, the first season focused on Shino, a boy who looks like he's 13 but is actually 18 because he is the holder of a living sword name Murasame, has to travel from village to village to find these beads or gems. It gets a little annoying where the story doesn't progress unless Shino goes traveling to another village or town

In the second season, the series focus a read more

If you liked the first season, then you will like this season twice as much. While the first season introduced the main cast, this season expands on their stories and answers some of the unanswered questions posed initially.

So far we haven't found all of the 8 holders of the jewels but are getting pretty damm close. It's kinda weird that looking for them is kinda like a side-thing but this doesn't hurt the story at all. I am very happy that we get to find out more about the characters' past. It makes the story seem more complex, like the characters are all linked read more

This review will contain spoilers for the first season only, it is strongly advised to watch the first season before viewing the second season.

Story: 7
Hakkenden season 2 continues right where season 1 left off. In this season Shino and his group continue to search for all eight of the marbles. The new character Ao becomes slightly more present in the second season, but not as much as I would have liked him to. Although I did enjoy this season, I found the second season to not be as "good" as the first season in terms of episode quality consistency. I expected the plot to be read more

Lots of cute bishounen characters who are demons. All of them are brought together due to a certain event. The main character is linked to this event and must uncover the mystery behind it. There are yaoi like moments. Similar voice actors can be heard in both series.
-Both story involve a child with supernatural power to solve everything.
-Both story involve a child who need to get protected by their guardian or butler.
-Both story involve a child who could not done anything by themselves.
-Both story involve a child who live by themselves with their guardian without their real parents.
-Both contain a bad guy who want to get the special power.
-Both contain a childhood friend who become their guardian or butler.
-Both contain a bad guy who want to reach their target and will do anything for it.
-Both contain a cute child (main character) who get liked by everyone and has lots of friends and easy in making friends.
-Both contain a task that are given to them to solve the mystery.
-Both story are about their adventure and solving mysteries.
Draws inspiration from mythology; Japanese mythology. There is a princess who will be resurrected once the conditions are met.

The continuation of the first season. There are Oni and tengu but they are in human form. Both series protect the main female who is very important to them.
Both have the same supernatural, action, and shounen genres, a yaoi element in them, and involve young boys with special abilities.

One has a second season, while the other doesn't. The MC in one anime is a damsel (or boy) in distress, while the MC in the other anime is the one who kicks ass. One anime has a very corny ending, while this one... you'll just have to wait and see.

-Continuation of the first season
-Plot unfolds
-Bishounen characters( Yokais etc)
-There are oni, tengu, mountain god, and many other Japanese mythologies/folklore
