Don't blame me, this is my first review. And I'm not american/english, lol.

The story is one of the first of its kind: people transformated in machine, like Astro Boy before and Kyashan after.
Shotaro Ishinomori made out, with an american-like style, a perfect mix of action an drama, in fact in the anime there is more space for feelings and the story isn't centered only on the fight against Black Ghost.
At first, characters weren't well delineated, but they evolved with the art and the flow of the time.
Ishinomori, who was a cinematography fan, put in this work a lot of movie quotes (ex. Jet Link's read more

This anime kinda takes me back. Not back in 1979 when the original was broadcast, but back when Cartoon Network was still broadcasting Toonami. I remember seeing an episode of this program on Toonami. I don't remember when, but I know it was when Toonami was still airing.
But enough about old memories. Cyborg 009 is the anime for you if you are into retro stuff. You know back in the 70s or 80s. The story is about nine people who were transformed into cyborgs by the evil Black Ghost. And now they are rebelling against him. The characters all seem sort of cartoonist esspeacially 007. read more

Anime: Skull Man
The original mangas for both The Skull Man and Cyborg 009 were created by Shotaro Ishinomori. Joe Shimamura/Cyborg 009 even makes a camero appearence in the Skull Man manga to debate evil with him (since they are the hero and anti-hero interpratations of the same idea at heart). The Skull man is considered a pseudo prequel of Cyborg 009.

Anime: Gunslinger Girl
The main characters both go through some of the same thing. Both are cybernetic ally enhanced and used as weapons for other peoples purposes. Both animes will be epic and amazing in their own way.

Anime: Casshern Sins
watching Casshern Sins made me remember Cyborg 009..
they both are about saving the world from destruction.. the arts in both anime are very similar.. with a taste of old robot anime..
not only that .. but both main characters Joe in Cyborg 009 and Casshern in Casshern Sins are very similar to each other..

Anime: 009-1
By the same original creator and with a somewhat similar setting. 009-1 is a more "adult" version of Cyborg 009.

Anime: Gad Guard
Similar animation and steampunk action/drama

Anime: Jinzou Ningen Kikaider: The Animation
Both were initially created by the late great Shotaro Ishinomori. Both are about Androids with somewhat dark tones, namely the loneliness and melancholy mood by being an Android/Cyborg.
