Synopsis

It is the dark century and the people are suffering under the rule of the devil, Vandel, who is able to manipulate monsters. The Vandel Busters are a group of people who hunt these devils, and among them, the Zenon Squad is known to be the strongest busters on the continent. A young boy, Beet, dreams of joining the Zenon Squad. However, one day, as a result of Beet's fault, the Zenon squad was defeated by the devil, Beltose. The five dying busters sacrificed their life power into their five weapons, Saiga. After giving their weapons to Beet, they passed away. Years have passed since then and the young Vandel Buster, Beet, begins his adventure to carry out the Zenon Squad's will to put an end to the dark century.

There was just something about Beet that didn’t work. While there were plenty of cool bits and interesting characters (as well as a world setup I thought to be quite novel) it just didn’t seem to gel for me. Perhaps it was the sheer scope of the story and the (correct) feeling one gets that it’s just not going to be fully addressed. By the end of the first series (52 episodes) we've only really seen the coming together of four out of what looks to be a five man team and the series cuts off right in the middle. But apart from that there's read more

No spoilers.

This is my review of Beet the vandel buster. The anime series covers what id like to call the Grunide saga in the manga. The story itself is not new at all its a generic shonen type story, that does not mean its bad it just means that its not something that will blow your mind away.

Story- fair (6),

The art during the main story is okay, its good enough to convey the plot, however sometimes character faces and bodies seem off. The filler episodes at the end show this blemish.

One thing i can gladly say that is great about read more

What can I say about Beet the Vandel Buster? Its set in a world where humans and demons exist, its kinda like watching a RPG, I think that would be the best way to describe it. Mainly due to the reward systems they have inplace and the leveling system as well, so yeha its kinda like watching a rpg. which is kinda fun and saves you the time of having to question every character and searching high and low of items and spending hours leveling up.

Beet is the brother of Zenon, who was a famed vandal buster who was the leader of another 4 busters, read more

It may just be me but the two male mains slightly remind me of each other. I like the "Hunter X Hunter" main more though but the have the same sort of feel.

Not really the same, but when i watched Lyrical Nanoha it kind of reminded me of Beet. so i think people who like Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha will also like Beet the vandel buster
The main characters are similar. Both feature a video game like setting with leveling up, weapon upgrade, etc. As the story progresses, stronger enemies challenges the main character.
Both are about two boys chasing a dream. Very similar theme, and characters.
Both anime have unique weapon for fighting and they also have group of people trying to end the dark era...Both are Action,Adventure,Fantasy and also Fun :)
