How I rate anime:
- 10 - Deeply impactful, resonates with me emotionally or simply has stellar execution and mind-blowing ideas. Gets me excited on every rewatch.
- 9 - Still a favourite, but not as attached as a 10.
- 8 - Really good, has me entertained all the way through but not good enough to be considered a favourite.
- 7 - Overall good, some issues here and there but the pros significantly weigh out the cons.
- 6 - Alright, riddled with errors but still is enjoyable or has a couple stand-out aspects. A good way to waste time.
- 5 - Makes me feel relatively indifferent or have mixed feelings. Not hateable but not good either.
- 4 - Mediocre. Not enough to feel emotion about the negatives but enough to be boring.
- 3 - Pretty bad. Has a couple redeeming qualities but that's about it.
- 2 - I'd probably watch this if you paid me, but it would definitely be agonizing with the amount of stupidity going on.
- 1 - Downright anger inducing and offensive. A show that believes that I'm a hobo that'll eat anything put in front of me. The creme de la creme of the problems in anime.
FAQ
Q:
Why would you ever watch a bad anime?
A: You need to see both sides of the spectrum. If you only watch the stuff you like, then you would never know what you don't like. Following through with bad shows educates you on things you don't like and helps you avoid those things in the future. Also poking fun at bad shows is a good way to relieve stress.
Q:
Do you watch seasonal anime?
A: Not really. If I watch any at all it would only be 3 or 4 shows max. I really want to watch old stuff because I find that interesting when most new anime feels similar and the old stuff truly shows which ones stand the test of time while it is difficult to measure the impact on anime as a whole while a show is still airing.
Q:
Would you buy merchandise?
A: If I weren't a jobless teen, yes. It would only be shirts and posters because my desks and shelves would be even more cluttered if I would buy manga and figures. It's nice to flip the pages in a manga though (which I do have now).
Q:
Dub or sub?
A: Either will do. If I try a dub and don't like it I'll just move to the sub and vice versa. I also won't get upset if a show I want to watch doesn't have a dub. Except when Little Witch Academia was airing. Screw you Netflix.
