Dr. Stone's story is predictable, but only when it comes to the premise. (Not going to spoil it, but once you see the first episode I think you'll recognize it.) Anyways you'll find that the story automatically gets ridiculous, but what makes it more ridiculous is that the show wants you to believe it, un-ironically.

Then you will find that you are enjoying the story because it has a branched exponential linear progression. (By branched, I mean multiple storylines that relate to the story.) When number 3 comes along, it goes downhill. He explains his motives that Senku (Dr. Stone) doesn't agree with. That's where it continues, but it does not make the entire season just about them being enemies, so at least it has that. (Plus humor always helps, but you will be able to hold your laugh.)
