i barely watch anime or read manga anymore but feel free to browse, my plan to lists are merely for quick archiving
(very unorganized and a 50/50 interest in watching)
my ratings are merely from a perspective of personal enjoyment, 10 being the highest
(see my tags for my short reviews of animes / manga)
ahh hello there!! thank you for replying to my comment!!!
i'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the manga a lot!!!! :) was expecting some wacky action-comedy delinquent manga when i picked it up jdsjdjsjjd,,, i had some doubts when i first read the story synopsis, but looking at the other characters, i felt like it's going to be a fun manga (and it was!!!!)
the large amount of ecchi jokes were the only things that prevents me from fully enjoying the manga (i'm a bit sensitive about this topic skkdkdkdk i'm sorry), but besides that, i liked outrage girl shiomi a lot!!!
the manga sure felt like something that came out in the past.... i was also really surprised when i found out that this was released in 2010s. the nostalgic oldschool artstyle and overall vibe is really great :)
again, thanks for replying to my comment!! it was really difficult for me to bring myself to comment on your profile because i was afraid if i would bother you or something ajdjnanns so i really appreciate your kind reply!! what brings me here is your profile picture of course skfjsjdks,,, i saw it in the statistics section of outrage girl shiomi
(and ohh i've watched sakigake otokojuku!!! although i've only watched the first few episodes and decided to drop it later kfjskfjkskd,, i might consider watching it again soon)
hello!! i apologize for commenting on your profile out of the blue ajfnahjdhaj but i'm so happy to see another person who also enjoys outrage girl shiomi!! the second i saw your profile picture i immediately freaked out jsjajjdk
i can't say reading the manga was an amazing experience for me....... i feel like the ecchi jokes are a bit too much especially for a manga with junior high schoolers. but i grew way too attached to the characters before i knew it kskdkkskd,, and oh my favorite character is tatsuya!!! :) i really like the funny little guy
again i apologize for suddenly commenting on your profile sksjdhsjsk the manga seems to be barely talked about so finding someone who also enjoys it makes me so happy........ AGAIN i apologize for my long rambling (AND I APOLOGIZE FOR APOLOGIZING SO MUCH),,,, i hope you have a great day!!!! ☆
Haven't even been on steam in a good minute, but I'll send ya a request!
New steering wheel? Nice! that'd be a lot of fun... VR chat is also pretty amazing haha. So many cool things can happen!
Dude, anything can be music. I would say EVERYTHING is music, ya knw? This is a notorious example, but if you didn't know about 4' 33" by John Cage, its a pretty amazing thing. More in a conceptual sense than a musical sense ;) John Cage has been breaking the rules in music for damn near 100 years... Rest his soul <3
This Island has been a great listen for my truck tunes. Great production, great quirky energy, and fun to dance to ;3
That reminds me, have you ever listened to The Go! Team ..? They have a similar attitude it seems. A little more orchestrated, but similar tendencies ... I think some of their music has been featured in some movies or commercials or something? This one single got a lot of traction in its heyday, but still is a great representation of their sound and still a banger
Feelin' much better these days! no more E. Coli lmao.
been hearing alot about Apex, i really should try it! If i ever think about it, i will add you! tag-teaming on counter strike would be awesome, i've never played with anybody but bots haha.
JuiceWRLD is really cool. I love that emo and rap are merging together. would have NEVER expected it, in a million years, but it really works. I love the album art too, like an old PS1 game haha.
That song is like a fever dream haha. Its intense. All of their music is pretty wild... most of it uses a very small sampling base to make complicated stuff.. Like on one album, they take recordings of OPEN HEART SURGERY and turn it into music. Wild.
Sorry i took a minute to get to you... there was an E. Coli outbreak in Kentucky, and I was a victim... been sleeping for like 5 days haha. feelin a little better now.
By the way, I bought a Le Tigre album the other day and thought of you! called The Island. very very good album! have u heard that one?
oh yes, apex! haven't tried it out... just looked it up and didn't realize that is was made in the Source engine... thats a good sign haha. u playin on PS4 or Xbox? or PC? i generally game on my switch :P .... you like other Source games? i love playing some Counter-Strike haha..
What tunes ya jammin? Matmos just put out a new album, i've been crankin it :3
There is a lot of cool stuff out there with Le Tigre type stuf! With a lot of feminist and lgbtq messages. There is a band called Gossip that is pretty neat and I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs... Sleater-Kinney has a lot of albums over a span of a long time... some of which aren't exactly my thing...but they are iconic in the seattle, grunge, riot girl scene. They made a lot of waves... if anything, i'd listen to their newest album! from a couple years ago..
I've definitely seen Senses Fail around but I dont think ive ever listen to them extensively. Is there a particualr album i should listen to? That side of punk is one i forget about sometimes, i should get educated! Louisville, KY used to have a hardcore festival called Krazy Fest, and i saw some bands that are in that similar scene... like Anti-Flag and Against Me! and stuff... are they similar? When i think of Senses Fail, i think of like the OST from a tony hawk pro skater game hah.
Kimi no na Wa will be worth your time for sure. But breaks are also important haha. too much of a good thing will make ya sick! What are ya keeping yourself occupied with now? if not anime? any other past-times? :P
yeah, the emo vibes changed my life! so much good emo out there. Emo rap and rock? yeah, i guess a lot of the new rap in town has that emo influence. It seems that you haven't seen Kimi no na Wa (Your Name) yet... any anime fan should see it, its great... but! the music was done by a band called Radwimps and the OST is FANTASTIC. When i visited Japan, i saw them live at Fuji Rock Fest and it was one of the best shows. Furthermore, that band has a lot of good records and a lot of their stuff is pretty emo and there is a lot of rap influence in there. Radwimps 4 and Batsu to Maru to Tsumi to are GREAT with lots of good emo and rap in there. I think you'd dig it ;)
From what i've heard of Hawthorne Heights, i really like! But its only been a couple songs.. i remember when Ohio Is For Lovers came out and that song CHANGED THE GAME. Everybody i knew had a strong opinion about it... but that song is great. Especially since i've been listening to a lot of 2000's emo/pop-punk/hardcore, i'll check that band out.
Always happy to talk tunes! Right now, outside of the stuff I've already mentioned, i'm on a HUGE Paramore kick. All of their records are so good... In fact, i've been itching to get a Paramore tattoo i think haha. Also, I just found out this morning that the co-creator of the show Portlandia, Carrie Brownstein, is THE SAME Carrie Brownstein that founded Sleater-Kinney and Wild Flag. WOW WOW WOW XD. My mind was blown haha. So i'm gonna try to listen to some more Sleater-Kinney tonight. You ever listen to that band?
Side note, i work at my local library and i hold a music discussion group based around the local music from my town (Louisville, KY)... As it is March, and thus it is Women's History Month, last saturday my group discussed an album by a local band Julie Of The Wolves... its an all woman group! Of course, Sleater-Kinney came up in conversation as an all-woman reference, but I HAD NO IDEA that Carrie from Portlandia was in that band. I am so shocked right now haha. You ever listen to female focused punk rock? As a fan of Le Tigre, i imagine that would be on your radar ;)... but i think i'd like to take March to explore some more Women's music and LGBTQ stuff :P
lol lol. Its hardly even a part of the mainstream anymore, with all the terrible attempts lol. Rap is really where the masses are heading, and i don't blame them. Better production, catchier, and a more interesting aesthetic. JuiceWRLD is dope! Haven't heard those other dudes..
And there definitely are some good rock stuff happening, you are right.. I shouldn't have been so bold ;P... For instance Tiny Moving Parts is really great... in fact, emo rock is some of my favorite stuff in the world, and that genre, both old and new, is full of some killer tunes... But it is fair to say that they are "reviving" some of that old style.... But Tiny Moving Parts and Foxing and people like that make really enjoyable stuff. I mean, my favorite bands in the whole world are considered "rock", and even though most of their music is pretty old, they are still making new records! Like Deerhoof and Do Make Say Think and Daughters... Also Shugo Tokumaru and Cornelius are still putting out stuff, and they kill it!
Happy to see you mention emo rock tho :D emo rock is definitely the biggest influence to me as a musician. Most things that I create are in the emo rock style. For years, i listened to nothing but emo rock. To this day, bands like Algernon Cadwallader, Snowing, 1994!, and Glocca Morra are great bands. And of course, all of the Polyvinyl Records and Kinsella Brothers stuff (American Football, Joan of Arc, Owen, Owls), those dudes are legends :D
I've only heard a little bit of Greta Van Fleet... they have a very polarizing outlook from the audience... some people love them and some people hate them, but I think they do a pretty good job. I should check their other stuff... Don't know Seaway though, i'll check it!
