Just read your Suki na Ko ga Megane wo Wasureta manga review and I want to say that they are indeed middle schoolers in 2nd year (3rd afterward) and are aged 14 (15), so your "Bad" part of the review is entirely wrong.

Yes, the thing with Detroit Metal City is that, while the original joke is fun, it is only fun for a short while. We have a saying in french: "Les plus courtes sont les meilleures". Meaning, "the shortest are the best" (alluding to jokes, of course ^^). You don't explain jokes, you just deliver the punchline. So, after a few episodes, the fun was just taken out of the series for me. At this point, in my opinion, the only way to continue the story would be to either change joke, or change the nature of the story. But either way, this means Negishi has to evolve.

Some, amongst my top, are there since forever and meant to stay there ^^ (Juuni Kokuki, first and foremost).

Happy to see someone agrees with me regarding Detroit Metal City. I had the exact same train of thought while watching the anime and wrote the same kind of comments: 'what is even the point in having such a wet blanket of a MC that never evolves?'. No character development, no point.

Looks like i have seen half of your top 10, although it seems that only Black Lagoon is something i found good enough to consider putting in my own (but i couldn't finish the series).

last of all, although I disagree with your opinion here (also he was a servant of a vampire and later became a "quasi vampire"), I don't really care that much anymore to keep this discussion alive. thanks for replying anyway

I read your bakemonogatari review and I just wanna say: there is a reason why araragi throws his life away every fight. they said it in the beginning, he's a vampire. how he became a vampire is in the prequel movies (which, if you're going to continue the monogatari series, you should watch after koyomimonogatari). the rest of the things I disagree with are just opinions or things I can't argue with because I haven't seen bakemonogatari in a long time, so I'm not gonna waste my time complaining about that.
