Both have similar themes, fantasy settings, immortal MCs (elf and witch), and (somewhat similar) visual and color styles.

A female protagonist that is a corporate slave? Check. Non-human companions who join this protagonist and adopt human forms? Check. A slice of life story? Check. Commentary about modern society? Check. Humor? Check. If you like one, I recommend that you at least check out the other, even if it is outside of your comfort zone (e.g., non-Japanese animation).

Aside from other similarities, the two stories feature a thematic resemblance: it should not be up to us to judge whether other people deserve to live or not. Light persistently goes against this, while Tenma is steadfast in this belief.

They share episodic storylines with each episode or arc dealing with a particular short story or a glimpse into a character(s). Also, it is worthy of mentioning that their titles share the last three characters. Compare dai li ren to dai ri (pronounced li) nin (both are 代理人). Perhaps this is due to a similarity in the shows' underlying subject matter and overall themes.

The opening sequence of Odd Taxi and the ending sequence of Scissor Seven have similar pastel-like art styles and hand-written fonts. As well, the songs in the sequences both feature guitar. Aside from these though, the two shows are quite different in plot and purpose.

Wan Sheng Jie

Both are slice of life comedies on mythical characters in modern society. Both are made by the same studio (Fenz), and their source materials are by the same author. In terms of art style, Fei Ren Zai is muted in color, while Wan Sheng Jie has a visibly pastel aesthetic. Wan Sheng Jie also attempts to break out of its slice of life aspect and include a narrative arc in its second season, while Fei Ren Zai's later seasons are quite consistent in this regard.
