Well it seems that you really dislike animes from Key. Angel Beats! it topnotch. Yet, you are entitled to you opinion.

Your Angel Beats review was....................SPOT ON!! From characters to plot! Great job :D I really enjoyed reading how you dissect the anime for what it really is xD

If you have some free time, check out my Angel Beats review and I hope you see the similarities and give me an opinion :)

Cheerz mate, keep it up!

I'm glad to find somebody else who isn't so keen on stuff made by Key. I've tried reading Kanon, Clannad and Rewrite, because they always get so highly praised, but the silly slapstick humour combined with ~sudden tragic revelations!!!~ and a very bland, uninteresting male lead just never gripped me at all...? I just... find most things by Key to be very dull and not to my liking at all - and since it seems kind of rare for people to criticise their work, I am glad you did!

I applaud you sir for your fine review on Angel Beats (that saved me from the wasting my time in watching it) and breaking down Jun Maeda's work in general. You are spot on in your analysis.

Your Angel Beats! review really should not be spotted like it is. I looked at your anime list that you gave 10's and what not they area all action and ecchi related. Angel Beats! is not an ecchi if you are lookin for that go somewhere else and do not bother to write a review. I don't know how marketed it was before it came out but I did not find it till I saw it on netflix. The whole point of Angel Beats! was to show that there is hope no matter where you go, even though it looks like you are alone and you have accomplished nothing in the world there is always something that you could not see. They rebeled against "god" for how cruel their lives were. how they didn't do anything wrong only to be punished by "god". As for the band 'Girls Dead Monster' or 'GULDEMO' they play a part in the anime I don't know how you say they are just filler or whatever pay attention to what your watching. You are taking this anime from the wrong perspective if you think this is so easy that they can manipulate someone's emotions. I will tell you this, My emotions from this anime are real. I know what that is like how they are feeling, because I too am one to say what did I do? what did I do to deserve this from this all mighty "god"! Don't feed people this BULLSH*T that this is just toying with you and that they fill your head with lies and false feelings. If you honestly believe that this is just fake and that they make you feel something that you shouldn't, I feel that you should look in the mirror to what you are saying.

Really good Angel Beast review that nail down all the weakness and also a quite good analyse of the Jun Maeda formula.

But I must admit that his formula, works on me. I like what he wrote. Even Angel beast with all those mistake. There are some huge in this show but it seam that it push the entertaining button in my brain.

Great Angel Beats review.
"Using the budget cuts to defend the trainwreck of a story is like when high school student complain that they would have done better on a test had they gotten more time. Sometimes, you just have to admit that you didn’t know what you were doing." brilliantly said.

Your Angel Beats review offends me. Most of it is opinion which is fine but the part that gets me is the mentioning of how people are getting fooled by fake emotions. Normally, I would just move on and ignore this but I have a friend that changed his entire life over Angel Beats.

I've known the guy for years and he's always been pretty laid back and lives life without much ambition or care for anyone else. As ridiculous as this may sound, when he saw Angel Beats last year, he went through some emotional changes. He now works for Big Brothers (Canadian group dedicated to providing for the homeless and needy) and spends all of his time helping those less fortunate. I couldn't believe it myself, I mean, the guy was pretty much an asshole before all this.

What I am saying is...that this anime affected him more so than when his parents died. I'm quite offended that you would call this change in him "fake". Is this change in his life over "false emotions"? I think the emotions he felt were very real and you have no right to call them otherwise.

You're basically stepping on the goodwill of all the people who become organ donors after watching Angel Beats (believe me, it actually happens). I had never thought about being an organ donor before but now I am one. It never even crossed my mind, I guess most people don't think about it. Say what you will about the anime but it enlightened me on how I could end up saving someone with my organs.

You are quite limited in scope if you think there is only one way of portraying a story. There are various kinds of stories that can exist and be good. Maeda's works focus on emotional elements and this in itself is the story. The very story of a work of fiction could be run entirely by emotions and still be a "good" story.

Also, your claim that it is not for people who like to think is entirely wrong. Even if you pull out some well thought out story that is incredibly deep and complex, does that make it good? No, even if something is simple, you can still "think" about it. Someone with the capability to do so can go in-depth and explore even the simplest of stories and create meaning out of it. If you are unable to do so and just label off something as simple, it means you didn't think it out and just passed it off.

For some people, drama is the core of story. Look at Shakespeare for example, are those "good stories"? Honestly, no...Shakespeare plays lack any form of "deep" story if we go by how you judge them. Shakespeare is famous for the story that arises from emotions. It is the over-dramatic moments in Hamlet and Romeo & Juliet that give rise to the story. Story and emotion/drama is one and the same. That's also the origins of drama theater itself.

Stop acting like an elitist claiming people are being suckered in. People watch and enjoy this stuff and you have no right to imply they are mindless sheep. So since you are not falling for it, you are superior then? You are better than them? Something is extremely popular and so those that like it are just being manipulated? BS, you're just like these snobby university students I encounter everyday acting like they are above the masses with their elitist attitudes. You guys think you're different and that because you are the minority that disagrees with the majority, you are special and above them. Face it, you're an elitist grabbing for attention by being different.

All the points you made in your angel beats review are all agreeable to me.
It is a well done review and I couldn't agree with you more that it is a pretty bad anime

I don't care for Angel Beats in the least but the end of that review seemed a little absurd. Otherwise, quite well written
