I wonder what persuaded you to watch Hachi-nan my man

Thanks! I will probably give it a try

Endlessly re-evaluating reminds me of myself :D Until just recently it was a constant struggle for perfection, I grew tired of it and now I have a different approach.

hey hows it been going?

True, we don't have to live in Japan to know that boys don't land with their hand on a girl's chest when they fall. :-)

From the Konbini Kareshi forum:

I don't really understand people on this forum sometimes... this is actually a legitly good SoL to me. The male MCs are a bit dense but overall pretty normal for their age - they're not chronic losers who blush at every step like in other anime such as Hajimete, Gamers, or Koi to Uso. And the dialogues in general are much better and much less clichéd. Sometimes, I'm afraid my fellow weebs are so addicted to panty shots that they no longer care about a normal, genuine story.

I'm with you. There's actually some substance here, some character development, and overall a lot less cliché and lucky sukebe than the typical romcom. I don't find it quite as enjoyable as Tsuki ga Utsukushii was for me last season, but after only 2 episodes, it's far too early to compare them. (Actually, more than anything else, this reminds me quite a bit of Nijiiro Days.) Tasteful panty shots in moderation are ok, but I'd much rather watch something a little different from what I have seen 35 times already. Incidentally, I'm not sure just how unrealistic the typical romcom lucky sukebe shujinko actually is. Japanese boys are, overall, relatively shy, so blushing at the sight of the barest minimum of cleavage may not be all that outside the realm of possibility. No, never mind... Forget I said that. No one is that naive on the outside and perverted on the inside.

Same here. I've been trying to curb how many disappointing airing shows I stick with :)
nDroae Apr 3, 2017 4:47 PM
Okay, I didn't see the post where you said that. I didn't want the fanservice in Urara either... mainly because in the show's art style, the girls were drawn to look even younger than they were supposed to be.

That's really interesting since I liked Gabriel Dropout's first 2 or 3 episodes, then quickly turned against it and kept watching only because I like Vignette. :P

I enjoy watching shows as they air, but if it's a show I don't like (which I might keep watching because it's popular or was recommended to me, and I want to be able to say I saw it all) then I much prefer to be able to get it over with as quickly as possible. Although that can be draining in some cases. :D Your reasons to watch bad anime are valid too. If I had less to watch, I'd check out some infamous trainwreck series.

Ah. Yeah, it's pretty rare for a show to change that much, since they have to grab their target audience from the beginning. What you could do is if you don't love a show's first one or two episodes, put it on hold, and check when it's over to see if people say it drastically improved. There's a big stigma against dropping shows, but I don't think it's warranted. (Sorry if this is all super-obvious)

You might want to be cautious of anything that appears in the seasonal list/connections in this group: https://myanimelist.net/clubs.php?cid=27093 "That type of show [Urara] is why this club exists in the first place." Some of them have much broader appeal than others though.

I'm seriously curious after seeing your comment in the Alice to Zouroku thread, what was your motivation that prevented you from dropping Demi-chan and Urara?

It’s time to ditch the text file.
