Mushoku Tensei is not the "progenitor " of the countless anime cliches that we now see in the isekais of anime and label as trash.

There are lots of other novels or manga of the same genre or clichés that came out way before or around the same time.

This pretty much came out around a time where anime adaptations of novels were becoming a thing.

MushokuTensei is not cliche because it's the first isekai ever written. How do you not know this?

Good Mushoku Tensei review. However one thing you do get wrong is that Mushoku Tensei is actually one of the OG Isekai novels. Pretty much all of the "clichés" within Mushoku Tensei are original elements (at least to the genre) that later works emulated from the novel but simply had received adaptions prior to Mushoku Tensei's. This was mainly due to a reluctance for licensors and studios to pick up the novel due to its massive scope and scale and reverence paid to it within the isekai ecosystem, hence why an entire studio was founded for the adaptation.

Mushoku Tensei Review - You can't justify pedophilia in a medival setting when the pedophile is a grown man from modern society. Likewise you can't justify a barbarian who'd time travel into a modern society to bring about bloodsoak genocides and wars because "passing on the genes" through murder is considered the norm. What MC does is called regression, that's what children, the impaired, and the irrational do when thier brains cant fathom constructive avenues to go down.

Optimally our world has progressed from touching children because everyone isn't going to die at 35 years old and consent has commonly become an ingrained idea within civil people. The main character knows this, but he exploits the setting to use his malignant mental illness. And this is somehow funny? Yuck.

After the Rain and Koikimo clearly presented entirely different stories, settings, and outcomes.
Koikimo represents couples who truly fell in love and decided to stay together despite of age-difference and various circumstances.
It is a story about how love and a kind heart can positively change a person. Also, it is about seeing through someone, discovering love, having an earnest heart to change for the one you cherish, acceptance, learning, and waiting.

I respect the criticism toward the show/story (despite of not knowing the specific reasons behind your opinion). However, completely understanding the material and having an open mind about some elements related to the story are enough for me to stick with my view.
