The ending of the Gunsmith Cats OVA was satisfying but left me wanting more (best combo), so I read a good chunk of the manga. I ended up dropping it, but it made me enjoy the OVA even more cause I realized it's actually an original story. I was impressed by how well the anime's supporting characters served as foils for the main duo. Ultimately, I went in expecting to taste-test and throw away a short and stylish girls-with-guns show (cause when are those ever good?), but it ended up being a better 90s Hollywood action flick than actual 90s Hollywood action flicks, with engaging action that isn't just there to be flashy and fill screen time and great character development. I also liked the style, designs and surely a bunch of other specific personal preferences, so your mileage may vary.

You've got some great favorites yourself~ I still have to watch Ashita no Joe, but 1999 HxH, Berserk, Jojo, AoT and Takarajima are some elite choices. Sure, some of your highly rated shows are not my cup of tea (especially NGE and almost anything from the Nasuverse), but that's practically inevitable. I still really resonate with your outlook as outlined on your profile. Thanks for adding me ^_^
