Fillers are one of the main problems in Cop Craft that I've mentioned. It is in the review and in the tag column too. And sure there was cringe, no argument there.

Here's why I called the serial killers in ID underdeveloped. Almost every single one of them kills people seemingly arbitrarily. Where are the interesting motives? Where are the interesting moral conflicts? It is no fun fighting against antagonists who are evil seemingly for the sake of evil itself. The detectives just follow the clues and try to arrest the evil culprit. Like you said, that is a detective story for sure, but here's the thing: I have a hard time getting into standard detective stories because I usually don't care enough.

We barely know anything about most of the serial killers. The same goes for most of their victims too, by the way. Who are these people, and why should I care about them? I can't even remember all their names because there are so many people killing and being killed without setting themselves apart from the others. This is also why some of the murder cases in ID feel like filler. I don't care about the culprit or the victim because I barely know them and they only contribute a little to the overall plot.

Sure, in ID there are the overarching John Walker plot and the protagonist's past. So far, not much has come of them, but I haven't watched the last few episodes yet. Maybe they can pull a surprise. I never found ID aggressively bad, but it plays so safe in being a traditional detective story that it has been a bit hard to maintain interest.

Cop Craft was probably slightly more interesting than ID so far. ID focuses a lot on "a dream within a dream" shock factor and random serial killers who arbitrarily do evil things. (Though random undeveloped criminals are pretty common in Cop Craft too.)

I accidentally stumbled upon your profile. Glad to see someone with similiar taste :)

What do you think about Kaguya-sama? my friend recently convinced me to read it
I'm still at 20-something chapter and I really like it so far but I've heard it gets better and better.

Unfortunately, I have little time to read lately. (studies etc.)
Some time ago I started to read Monster but because of this lack of time I still can't finish it...

Do you play FGO ? I guess so looking at your discussion with some guy below

Oh yeah .. and Fate Zero is a masterpiece. Glad you enjoyed it so much

I didn't state any user's review. If you need to do research outside of the medium to like a show, then the show is bad. It's fine if they're made for the fanbase, but don't be salty over people not interested in the fandom calling out the show for being bad.
GriffithIsRight Dec 2, 2019 8:20 AM
Playing FGO definitely biases it a lot bc people go in with what they know about the game's plot. From an anime-only perspective, FGO is a pretty bad anime and it's not exactly a bad assumption to make that since people only watch Zero and UBW, that a similarly praised Fate show would be similar in style to those two works. I'm not biased or elitist, people leaving salty comments on my profile like you are just delusional FGO fans.
GriffithIsRight Dec 1, 2019 1:35 PM
u dumb? Most ppl in the west only watch FZ and FSN, and never play FGO it's about as least biased as you can get without having 0 idea of how the Fate lore works

Hi, your anime list is so similar to mine! Even I rate animes based on enjoyment solely. And how you doing?
Ryuuryota Dec 11, 2018 11:28 AM
haha thanks brother, i totally agree people are too judgemental and it feels like they go in with a negative attitude and it makes them get less enjoyment out of it than if they went in open minded and just was looking at it as something that gives you enjoyment and is a good way to spend your time.

Anime takes alot of people time and money to create and i feel like if you've started watching something if you wish to critique said anime then you should do after you've seen/read it all, then you can make a fair complete judgement.

also thanks for the add :)
