Was it all just a dream? Or maybe a vision? No, it was real...

Hello,

I got into anime when it started blowing up in the west in the late 90's/early 2000's, early Toonami years. Dropping off around the time Yu-Gi-Oh and Naruto were coming out. I have a soft spot for the older stuff from that time. In the past few years I've got back into it and am trying to watch some of the stuff I missed from that time and also some newer notable things.

If it looks like we have some similar interests, feel free to send me a friend request.

I've met and got signatures from Megan Shipman (Anya Forger), Christopher Sabat (x2 Piccolo), and Brian Drummond (x3 Allen Schezar, Zechs Marquise, El Diablos Nacho)

Hey, what's up? Have you heard about the latest Terminator game? It was announced not that long ago. It's called Terminator 2D: NO FATE. I like this retro vibe. The gameplay looks fun too, at least on this trailer.

Ahh, I've heard of That one I haven't watched it yet, but I do like the opening song. Man, I wish I had some thrift stores like that. I usually have to order mine online.

Tbh I haven't really watched any magical girl shows. I guess Wonder Egg Priority falls into that category, but it was pretty meh. I tend to like fantasy JRPG-style shows and cyberpunk, but I'll watch just about anything.

I really enjoyed Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. Even with 50 episodes, I can't really say it had a bad episode. Great fighting "for 2006 anyway", fun characters, and a very comedy filled show .

Macross 7 was a pretty disappointing show. The overall concept was kind of ridiculous flying in a mecha and singing the enemy away. It was a letdown compared to the original series, though it did have some of the best cel animation.

Lastly, I've been watching a lot of Studio Chizu movies. I really enjoy how they keep that old Digimon-style art in them.

Yeah, I'm like that too. If I ever see an anime box set, I tend to pick them up. I noticed you dropped it; that sucks. Are there any shows you’re watching right now that you like?

Own it (DVD)
Are you enjoying this series so far? I've always wanted to watch it, especially since I've heard the soundtrack is great.

Ohh, that's good to hear. Seems like a fair and balanced achievement model. :) Thanks for the info.
Adnash Apr 18, 4:47 AM
Are its achievements rather time-consuming? I mean, are they, at least on PS4, nicely done in a way that they allow you to unlock them while playing the game, with some challenges along the way requiring skill, or are they full of rather trivial, yet taking a lot of time tasks?

Yeah, I'm into video games, indeed. I heard about Terminator: Resistance several years ago, but like you said, reviews were not definitely encouraging. I kind of forgot about this game after some time, because even if it had been a hit through and through, my PC wouldn't have been able to run it anyway. So the game's actually quite decent? That's good to hear!

I'm not that much picky when it comes to video games themed after franchises I'm a fan of. Like, if I want to play a solid FPS, then I don't mind imperfections as long as they are not severe or game breaking. However, I can be strict if a game is lazy or isn't made with enough care and respect to the franchise it is meant to be a part of. From what you said, Terminator: Resistance seems to be an alright FPS/Survival game, and definitely a great installment of the Terminator franchise. :D Once I upgrade my PC someday, I will definitely check it out! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

I enjoyed it. Cute little show. I will probably wind up picking up the Manga.
Adnash Mar 28, 5:22 AM
I totally agree! I didn't think I'd enjoy this series so much. :D Its main trailer already looked promising, so I was positive before this show was released, but I didn't expect this anime to be so entertaining to watch. :) At least I liked it a lot, hehe. A solid piece of sci-fi anime, and definitely a fine addition to the Terminator franchise.
Brans94 Mar 25, 12:06 PM
Yeah it definitely drags in some areas. Especially towards the ends. Still very enjoyable.
Adnash Feb 9, 1:57 AM
No worries!

Yup, our anime affinity is quite high! :D

Hey, thanks for accepting my friend request! Nice to meet you. :)

I'm never mad for suggestions if the person thinks I would enjoy it.

Oh that's good to know!!!

I actually found the Gundam Seed manga at a thrift store. So maybe reading some of it will get me to give it another shot.

I read that manga many years ago when I became a new anime/manga fan, I gave that one an 8 on my score. So yeah I would go with that direction first, then try again re-watching the anime, maybe it'll grow on you.
mdo7 Jan 5, 12:53 PM
Yeah but I was like 13 so I just got into other things. I never disliked the anime I had discovered. I just didn't like the new crop of shows that had hit it big at the time. I was over stuff like Yu-Gi-Oh that was dominated anime talks with people I knew. I've always had multiple interests, anime was just, let's say, deprioritized.

Even before her I was still watching the odd anime here or reading a manga. And no I have not yet watched Death Note, as mentioned, I was aware of wildly popular anime that were going on, I just never made it a priority to seek them out to watch.

I see, that explains it.

As mentioned before, I was there for when things started to take off in the west around 1999-2000 and then dropped off. Nobody in my friend group was likey into the shows listed above, so nobody came to me clamoring that I should watch "Love Hina".

Thank you for the clarification.

However, Gundam Seed was one of the shows that turned me off from anime back in 2003-2004.

OK, so suggesting Gundam SEED was not a good idea, my apologies.

But thank you for replying back to me, appreciate it.

I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm liking the over the top nature of it.
