Aniplex Announces SHAFT's Original Anime Project [Update Oct 28]

Aniplex aired a TV ad on MBS about their original anime project. The staff are as follows:

Director: Shinbo Akiyuki
Scenario: Urobuchi Gen
Character Design: Aoki Ume
Production Studio: SHAFT

More information will be revealed every week in TV ads to be aired within Togainu no Chi program.

According to the cover of Megami Magazine December issue, the title of the new anime is "Mahou Shoujo Madoka ★ Magica".

Before people are acting surprised that this actually has good animation; many SHAFT first episodes have really good animation, only to go back to their usual quality in the later episodes, especially Zan SZS and Hidamari x 356 first episodes were really amazing animated only to fail to impress in later episodes.

The website has been updated.

- Character design for Madoka is revealed.

- Yuuki Aoi has been announced as the seiyuu for Kaname Madoka.

Well, even Bakemonogatari was pretty good to me, even with all it's animation detractors, so I myself don't mind. But SHAFT has more talented individuals too who deserve some spotlight.

That said, Kajiura Yuki on music + SHAFT is more than enough to spark my interest.
