Gurren Lagann Staff's New Anime Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt

According to the tweet of Uchikoga Tomoyuki (the president of CH Production), GAINAX's new anime "Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt" was announced at a live event of Gurren Lagann Parallel Works. The main staff of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann will produce the anime. The details will be revealed in this month's issue of Newtype magazine.

Synopsis:
The Upper Region sends two angels "Panty" and "Stocking" to the earth in order to wipe out the prevailed "Ghosts". Panty, a blond woman in teen-celebrity-style clothes, and Stocking, a black haired woman in gothic lolita fashion, fight against peculiar ghosts.

It is a good anime..It could have been a crap or normal cartoon from usa if not GAINAX.They combinated their mindfucking ideas with nice story and art*_*

The trailer looks like Puffy Ami Yumi (crap) throwing up on Invader Zim and Afro Samurai and some other random anime. I'm confused by that trailer. lol. I love the art style and the title(wink). I want to see this so bad. I just hope it isn't like Crappy Ami Yumi beyond the art.

lol you're missing the whole point if you think the Gurren team should animate on 1s

the whole point of the styles people like imaishi, yoshinari, sushio etc use is that they use lower framerates that allow the animator to fuck around and make things expressive and unique

For sudden, I think this will be more close to something like FLCL or Dead leaves. I mean, it's the team who did Gurren Lagann; "The story of a boy who fights invaded aliens with galaxy sized robot". This one is same, except boy/aliens/robots needs to be changed as girls/ghosts/fanservices.

I don't have much expectation on another GAINAX projects. (source) It doesn't look a single bit interesting. Magical fantasy doesn't suits GAINAX's style much. But let's see how they can pull of that.

Okay, a little update. There was a Gainax panel at Fanime 2010 and someone asked about the anime set in England. Hiroyuki Yamaga (Director of Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Mahoromatic and Wings of Honneamise) said that they were doing Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt first (which the translator called “Panty and Stockings with Garterbelts”), which is “very dirty”, and their subsequent work will be a “more refined” show set in early 20th century England.

It took you guys this long to lose faith in Gainax? I quit once I realized TTGL isn't interesting once you take into account the Parallel Worlds, movies, OVA's, etc.
