'Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction' Reveals Additional Staff, Teaser Trailer

The official website of the Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction two-part anime movie revealed additional staff, a teaser trailer, and the first movie's key visual (pictured) on Tuesday. The first movie will premiere in Japanese theaters on March 22, while the second movie is scheduled to open on April 19.

Tomoyuki Kurokawa (Shinrei Tantei Yakumo) is directing the movies at Production +h.. Reiko Yoshida (Koe no Katachi) is handling the series composition and penning the script. Nobutake Itou (Inu-Ou) is designing the characters, and Tarou Umebayashi (Yuri!!! on Ice) is composing the music.

The anime adapts Inio Asano's sci-fi slice of life manga, which launched in Big Comic Spirits magazine in April 2014. The serialization ended with the 100th chapter in February 2022. Shogakukan published the 12th and final volume on March 30.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in 2017 and released the final volume on April 18.

I posted another topic on the ddd anime, it has about 1 minutes and 30 seconds of footage from the actual movie, although without music, only the voices. @deg

if the actual movies moves better than this teaser then im wrong plus someone told me the staff of this is talented heck they have a dedicated ace animator so they just need enough production time to do smooth animation

I didn't know what to expect after clicking this news, but I had fingers crossed to see an anime set in the Kirby universe, telling the story of King Dedede. Too bad it ain't one.

@deg it looks around the same to me tbh, and that's a trailer not a teaser. 30 seconds isn't a whole lot of time to show off animation while still giving context to what the plot will be like. Just showing random sakuga from a movie wouldn't necessarily make for a good teaser. And watch 30 seconds from the Orbital Children trailer and see if that still looks better.

@deg the teaser's animation doesn't look that much lower quality than the animation in Millenium Actress trailer. It opens on a mostly still shot, sure. But that's just a scene that was chosen for the trailer to show the reveal of the ufo. The color grading and post processing differences are stylistic traits impacted by trends and technology. This is also a two part movie adaptation of a manga rather than an original story. Original anime tend to look better on average than adaptations.

and the reason anime movies today are tv quality too is because of overproduction of anime that makes tight production schedules so less time to polish things

@deg It's kinda dumb to expect every anime movie to look like Steam Boy and Metropolis, those are both known for being extremely well animated movies. And there are old anime movies that look just okay too. The teaser shown looks perfectly fine to me. The reason it looks "tv quality" is because tv anime nowadays are trying to look movie quality.
