The anime adapts Nozomu Mochitsuki's romance fantasy light novel, which originally began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in August 2018. TO Books began publishing the series with illustrations by Gilse in June 2019. The 13th volume was released on April 10, and the 14th volume is scheduled for a September 9 release.

Mizu Morino began drawing a manga adaptation on the Comic Corona website in August 2019. TO Books released the sixth volume on April 15.

J-Novel Club licensed both the light novel and manga adaptation in English in November 2019 and May 2022, respectively. The ninth light novel volume went on sale on January 5, while the 10th volume is scheduled to be released on October 4. The fourth manga volume was released on March 8.

I only read the manga (not the light novel), but this was such a fun story. Unlike other Villianess stories, where the protagonists become good people or mend their ways , Princess Mia is still undeniably selfish. She's more cognizant of her privileges since she lived in an imperial prison for 3 years. But she does not give a shit about commoners. She only wants to prevent future rebellion to keep her fancy imperial lifestyle. She's nice in order to avoid making enemies. It's pretty refreshing.

Can't wait for the anime adaptation!
Yeah that does sound pretty entertaining. Curious is there any significant character development though? Regardless looking forward to it. Fall has a lot but hopefully a show I can make time to watch seasonally.
