'Boku to Roboko' Gets Anime Movie in Winter 2024
The 28th and final episode of Boku to Roboko (Me & Roboco) announced an anime movie for the series on Monday. The official website also revealed an announcement video. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters in Winter 2024.
The 28th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump serialized the latest chapter of Shuuhei Miyazaki's sci-fi gag manga, where Roboko becomes an actress in an independent movie. The issue posted an illustration for the chapter (pictured right).
The short television anime produced by animation studio Gallop began airing on December 5 last year.
Weekly Shounen Jump began serializing Boku to Roboko in July 2020. Shueisha published the 13th volume on June 2.
VIZ Media licensed the manga digitally in English in July 2021 and simulpublishes the chapters on its Shounen Jump platform. The seventh volume went on sale on April 25, with the eighth volume scheduled to be released on July 25. Shueisha's Manga Plus platform also simulpublishes the manga in English.
Synopsis
Robotic OrderMaids are popping up in every household, and 10-year-old Bondo Taira has found out that his two closest friends—Motsuo and Gachi Gorilla—have OrderMaids too. Motsuo, in particular, owns Meico, a beautiful robot that gives excellent massages and serves drinks with a smile. Jealous of his friend, Bondo convinces his mother to get him an OrderMaid, hoping for a similar experience.
However, to Bondo's surprise, the maid that appears outside of his door is incredibly muscular and clumsy enough to destroy a house when completing simple chores. Going by the name Roboko, this new robot is the exact opposite of what Bondo wanted. But despite that, Bondo, together with his friends, learns that there is more to Roboko than they could ever expect. [Written by MAL Rewrite]
