'AI no Idenshi' Reveals Additional Cast, Staff, Theme Songs, Second Promo

The official website of the AI no Idenshi (Gene of AI) television anime series revealed on Friday additional cast, staff, theme songs, key visual (pictured), and a second promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere on July 8 at 1:53 a.m. on MBS and TBS' Animeism programming block, followed by AT-X.

Mutsuki Iwanaka (Tsuki ga Kirei) and Natsumi Takamori (Sakura-sou no Pet na Kanojo) are joining the cast as Jay and Kaoru, respectively.

Pop singer Aile The Shota is performing the opening theme "No Frontier." GReeeN (Ooyukiumi no Kaina) will perform the ending theme "Wasurenagusa," which is performed in the promotional video below.

Yuuzou Satou (One Outs) helms the anime at Madhouse. Ryuunosuke Kingetsu (Hakozume: Kouban Joshi no Gyakushuu) is penning the script and handling the series composition. Kei Tsuchiya (Laidbackers) is the character designer and chief animation director. Takashi Oomama (Kidou Senshi Gundam: Suisei no Majo) and Natsumi Tabuchi (5-toubun no Hanayome) are composing the music.

The anime adapts the sci-fi psychological manga which serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion from November 2015 to August 2017 and compiled into eight volumes. The five-volume AI no Idenshi: Red Queen sequel manga ran in Bessatsu Shounen Champion from October 2017 to June 2019.

Yamada launched a third series, AI no Idenshi: Blue Age, in the same magazine in July 2020. Akita Shoten published the fifth volume on December 8, with the sixth volume scheduled to ship on June 8.

I hadn't realized this was based on a manga. If it does well I hope they adapt the sequels.
