Are these manga and anime really that interesting that they get seasons like hotcakes? I ask without sarcasm, I just often hear praise for this work.

If you like war drama stories merged with battle shonen elements (so like the original RTK novel lol), Chinese history or history in general yeah Kingdom is awesome. Also yeah I would just recommend reading the manga for the first some 173 chapters. The anime does look better from the snippets I have seen in S2 and especially S3. S1 though just looks awful main reason I decided to pick up the manga first because the art is quite beautiful at least for me.

truly a masterpiece
this underrated series deserve a full adaption

It might be underrated in Western mainstream anime circles, but the manga is super popular in Japan having sold around 90 million copies which makes it one of the best selling manga of all time

the event, arcs and characters of the first season which is the first 170 chapters of the manga
is master piece , the only downside is the cgi and censorship of blood .
so the best advice is to read those first arcs in the manga hten move to the anime
the manga art is suprior even to the new seasons .

Thanks! I will do what you recommended.

enjoy first season 1-173 chapters
2nd season 174 -261 .

So, if I want to watch this, I'll need a shutter speed to watch the first season?

Is it completely CGI? Like Berserk?

Only Season 1 is made with 80% CGI... the amount of CGI drops by a lot in Season 2, and is almost completely removed from Season 3 onwards

If you manage to get through the bad CGI in season 1, this show is actually amazing

Thanks for this information! I was feared that CGI was in ALL seasons! I will definitely watch it! Thanks!

If it's historical enough, I might give it a chance... someday.

you do get used to it and they nail the characters, story and important moments very well but those 3D models are quite jarring

pretty much... you can check just the opening sequence on youtube, dont remember it spoiling anything

Still why they did it in 3D CGI. I doubt Pierrot have little money.
