Bandai Namco Arts opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yuusuke Nomura's Blue Lock manga on Thursday, revealing the main cast, production staff, a teaser visual (pictured), and teaser promo. The anime series will debut in 2022.

Synopsis
After reflecting on the current state of Japanese soccer, the Japanese Football Association decides to hire the enigmatic and eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego to achieve their dream of winning the World Cup. Believing that Japan has lacked an egoistic striker hungry for goals, Jinpachi initiates the Blue Lock—a prison-like facility where three hundred talented strikers from high schools all over Japan are isolated and pitted against each other. The sole survivor of Blue Lock will earn the right to become the national team's striker, and those who are defeated shall be banned from joining the team forever.

Selected to join this risky project is Yoichi Isagi, a striker who failed to bring his high school soccer team to the national tournament. After choosing to pass to a teammate who missed instead of scoring on his own, he could not help but wonder if the results would have been different had he been more selfish. Using this golden opportunity given by the Blue Lock Project, Yoichi aims to clear his doubts and chase his ultimate desire—to become the greatest striker in the world and lead Japan to World Cup glory. Let's say I often talk about yuri. But where have I ever said things like "wow, I hope they be lesbians"?
lol I don't care. If you talk about yuri, then you shouldn't have an issue with me talking about yaoi. Just stop jumping on me, to bait me to fight. Not gonna do that. Thank you, have a good one. 👍

Did I say somewhere that you can't talk about BL or that I hate it?

I'm sure you wouldn't complain if it was yuri content instead.

Like you won't pretend it's a gay show even without BL doujinshi lol.
I'm sure you wouldn't complain if it was yuri content instead.

I'm not into soccer but it looks interesting. I'll give it a chance.

Even though it's a regular spokon, just about the soccer theme, I still really enjoyed it (Even if you guys write that the soccer here is unrealistic)

Plot:
The plot is simple but interesting. In 2018, Japan lost the World Cup, the Japanese have not decided to put up with it and came up with a program called "blue lock" - the blue prison, a complex of buildings, where 300 people will choose the best striker, as the creators of the building, it is the attacker is the most important player.

It is worth saying that I think any spokon interesting, they are very difficult to come away from and I have never read a bad, in fact all of them were extremely interesting, the blue prison is no exception.

This looks.. interesting. I'm a bit thrown off by the serious tone, but we'll see. It's been a long time since I last saw a soccer anime.

It's good to see another football anime but I probably won't like it based on what I've heard being a defender myself. Anyways it reminds me of that one arc in Whistle! where they pick the Tokyo representative team but with only strikers but I doubt It'll be better than Inazuma, Captain Tsubasa or Whistle!

I have read the manga before. I hope the anime can get it to the same level of popularity that Kuroko No basket had when it was running.

Princess Chigiri looks cool in the trailer.

I still need to check out the manga. I love how there was a football debate going on in this forum for a while.
