'Yakusoku no Neverland' Second Season to Premiere in October 2020

The official website of the Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) television anime announced on Saturday that its second season will begin airing in October 2020 on Fuji TV's noitaminA programming block. The website also revealed an illustration based on the final scene of the first season (pictured above). noitaminA will rebroadcast the first season in July 2020.

Yakusoku no Neverland adapts Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's fantasy thriller manga of the same title, which has been serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump since August 2016. Shueisha published the 16th volume on October 4, with the 17th volume (pictured right) is shipping on January 4, 2020. Yakusoku no Neverland has a cumulative 16 million copies of its volumes in circulation worldwide.

The first anime season produced by CloverWorks aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2019. Aniplex of America licensed the anime series and streamed it on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and HIDIVE.

VIZ Media published the first three chapters of the manga in English in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, at the same time as Japan, as a part its Jump Start initiative before adding the series to its regular lineup. The company's new Shounen Jump platform now simulpublishes the manga with its Japanese release digitally. The 12th volume shipped on October, with the 13th volume scheduled for a January 7, 2020 release.

A live-action film based on the manga will open in theaters in Japan in Winter 2020.

Nope. 2 cours are just for Goldy Pond arc alone. Final arc need more 2 cours

Certainly wasn’t expecting this long of a wait though. Hopefully, this means 2-3 cours are guaranteed!

Wait, so if they're rebroadcasting the first season in Summer 2020, does that mean we won't get a new NoitaminA anime that season, or will they air a new show + the rebroadcast?
