The official website of White Fox's Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest) anime has announced on Monday that the broadcast of the series has been postponed to 2019 due to "various circumstances." The anime, to be directed by Jun Kamiya (Kingdom), was originally scheduled for an April 2018 premiere.

Publishing company Overlap has also announced that the planned release of the light novel's eighth volume will also be delayed by a month from March 25 to April 25 due to "various circumstances." The volume's special edition will bundle a second drama CD.

Written by Ryou Shirakome with illustrations by TakayaKi, Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou initially launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in November 2013, Overlap began publishing the novel's physical volumes in June 2015.

A manga adaptation drawn by RoGa has been serialized in Overlap's Comic Gardo manga website since February 2016, with its second compiled volume published in September 2017.

The first volume of Shirakome's prequel spin-off series Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou Zero was published last year on December 28, and a manga adaptation is scheduled to begin in Comic Gardo in 2018.

J-Novel Club has been publishing both the novel and the prequel spin-off digitally in English since February and December of last year, respectively, with the latter following a simultaneous publication with the Japanese release through the volumes' first parts. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the novel series and its manga adaptation for physical release, and plans to publish them beginning February and March, respectively.

If someone hates isekai and harem anime, why do they bother commenting on an isekai harem anime? It's not for you. Fuck off. I don't like Mexican food, but I don't stand in front of Taco Bell and bitch about how it gives me diarrhea.
This was my first LN. I still love it. If you dont, that's fine. Go find what you like and stay there.

If it was Toei, they would be like "Nah, lets release crappy looking anime now, and we will fix it for home release...or not" :)

Wise decision, crappy anime adaptation often hurt original source material, better wait longer, and get good product :)

lmao what a pathetic take.

That kind of sucks but hey it lets me try to read some of the source material (I hope it airs someday).

Well, if they can polish this, why not? (I've read the the WN, and it's a mess, in a cool way. I was disappointed on how it handled Kouki, the designated "hero".)

Another disgusting harem to avoid

Happy news hehe

Yup, very happy news for me too XD XD

I hope Kenja no Mago gets aired by the Autumn season, as that series is not Harem, and treats non-MC male characters much better with more screentime compared to both Arifureta and Death March.

Can't wait to see Shin Walford in Anime.

With the onslaught of amazing shows coming in April, plus they're already doing Steins;Gate 0 (which I've heard is amazing and doesn't pale to the original) it's probably for the better. Plus I've read Arifureta in its entirety, trust me, it can wait. Like, forever. If White Fox wants an iseaki, then Re:Zero season 2. They have enough published for it to happen now.

Eh I can kinda see why, probably because of either the designs looks or they have problems with production at the moment. Who knows.

Because Isekai is not bad?

Atleast it's not cancelled, maybe a studio change will happen.

Lots of LN adaptations need this postponement treatment. LN adaptations need more quality control.

I read the story, disliked it, probably will not see it.

If others can enjoy it, that's okay. Take care.

Yeah.... I hope that's for firing and hiring another guy for the character designs. Because that key visual art is horrendous! Even worse than KonoSuba at this point.

One less PTW. Oh well, I'm not really looking forward to it.
Please more delayed anime announcements!

Guess someone didnt like smth and they will restart the whole project, well as long as we get the anime in the end i dont mind waiting since yeh there are enough of other anime out there that will air and help us kill time until this one is out ^^

Jan 15, 2018 6:12 AM by KurumiNightmare

I bet for sure it is due to the author not liking what White Fox did and has to change the premise.
