Tetsuwan Birdy (Birdy the Mighty) anime announced for Summer

Patlabor Mangaka Yuuki Masami's "Tetsuwan Birdy" (Birdy the Mighty) is being converted into an anime, to air this summer. The cast and channel have yet to be decided, and it has been said that the anime version will differ in story and setting from the manga. The manga is currently publishing, with 17 the most recent volume.

I'm looking forward to this. I watched the original OVA a while back, and thought it was pretty enjoyable with some definete potential, but it just wasn't long enough and left too much unresolved. Hopefully this new series will aleviate that problem!

I really like Birdy The Mighty, although I never have read the manga, but the four OVAs were really good... direct to my "plan to watch" list =)

I hope this will be better than the existing Birdy the Mighty anime. Er, not that it was bad, but more Birdy is always nice. :D
