Amazon (Japan) has released the top ten lists for manga, light novels, limited edition manga, adult manga, and artbooks and material collections on its Best Books of 2007 list.

2. Yotsuba&!, Volume 6
3. Neon Genesis Evangelion, Volume 11
4. Fullmetal Alchemist, Volume 17

I'm surprised that it's still at the top. I know it's popular in Japan, because I am a big fan of the Wanpisu series.

Kimi Kiss and Lucky Star, cool! SaiMono, SnS and SHNB on the light novel list is not a big surprise for me, would be cool if they'd also translate them here.

I have to admit that, given the title of this thread, I'm slightly surprised by the complete lack of.... you know.. books on this list. I read the title and I thought it would be fun to see what kind of novels the Japanese are into reading. Although given the topic of this forum I guess I should have seen it coming :)

can't believe one piece is still running strong. That manga has seriously been running for years... my friend loved it, but she stopped after vol 20 came out.

gotta love the endless shounen manga.

yay for Nodame Cantabile as number 1 ;)

seeing KnJ in the top ten is a little strange for me.

Oh no, I didn't even see it, I only heard things about it (The bad stuff, as you can see) and that's what made up my judgement. I guess I shouldn't have done so. ^^;

KoJikan manga is surprisingly good and deep. I cried in a flashback chapter about Rin's mom. The TV series is not bad too. And no, I'm not a lolicon~ ^^;

Don't judge KoJikan only by seeing the OVA, which is quite disturbing.

Kodomo no Jikan in the top as well? Don't have to guess what kind of people buy those anyway...

The manga of Kimikiss is awesome. I've resorted to reading (more like making up your own dialog) the CHINESE raws because I can't find the Japanese ones, though I do have the translated chapters already.

What surprises me is Lucky Star. Volume 1? I guess people are just picking it up all of a sudden.

nodame cantabile is like one of the most popular thing evar thar. havin its own show, anime, manga and stuff LOL.

I was actually surprised to see Nodame Cantabile there. I didn't know it was that popular.

Black Lagoon, on the other hand, is commonly on the top 10 bestselling lists of manga in Japan. I know it's been #1 a couple of weeks.

Good to see the Eva manga not being infinitely stalled, more to the point.

Is Lucky Star newly published? Or is this a mass of people starting the manga because they liked the anime?
