I'm very happy to hear about this!
I've been reading the manga for a few weeks and the story's good enough for me to say I'm hooked. I like the artstyle and Nico's design reminds me a tiny lil' bit of Murdoc from Gorillaz (must be the crazy smile). The backgrounds are nothing special and could use a little more work but hopefully that won't be a problem in the TV version, and I'll finally get to see my homonym in all her animated glory.

Eh, really? The artstyle look pretty similar and i could've sworn to see doujin written by this author before. That said, her website only has some Gangsta and some one-shot chapters, so i was kind of wondering if she actually writes other similar stuff in her circle of fandom.

Not that I'm aware of. I followed her work for several years before GANGSTA. and she never mentioned attending doujinshi conventions during that time (she mainly worked on online shorts). Which isn't to say it's impossible, just unlikely. Though earlier this year she and her editor actually had to make statements to this effect ("she has not published doujinshi") because people were falsely selling works claiming to be by her at doujinshi events (there's info on her Twitter about that). Up until last year her website contained a lot of her earlier work, none of which was yaoi (and none of which she sold). She has lamented on Ask sites and her Twitter that someday she would like to try both yaoi and yuri.

Even if none of this were to be taken into account, she has severe health problems that limit her work considerably and has only been able to attend a couple of brief autograph events since being diagnosed with a life-threatening blood condition in 2012. She currently has two series running, both of which have taken multiple hiatuses due to her hospitalisation (GANGSTA. only just returned from one with a short chapter over the weekend). Even if she had been able to maintain a separate doujinka identity in the past (which she has denied), given everything that's happened to her recently it seems highly unlikely that she is currently doing so.

While I like her work, I don't think her art style is the most unique out there. There are probably quite a few artists publishing doujinshi with a similar artistic bent to Kohske's.

Seems interesting. It just better not have gangstah OST as well.

Having read some doujins written by the mangaka (some are yaoi, but most others are decent non-H), it never occured to me that he also writes manga under publishing company. No wonder the art looks so similar.

Anyway, the premise sounds intriguing and we rarely see decent crime fiction anime nowadays so i'm looking forward to it.

With the few chapters I've read I'll be looking forward to the anime. I'm especially interested in how they'll animate the sign language.

Caught up to manga recently...and eh, it's okay I guess. It reminds me of Black Lagoon, Jormungand, and Dogs & Carnage. The action is decent but the story isn't something I find too appealing yet. I wonder what studio though. Please be White Fox.

White Fox or Manglobe pls.

I wonder how they will end up adapting the dialogues. this could be interesting or a total disaster...

They better not destroy my favourite manga.
Still, I'm so happy!
And Suwabe-sama too!
It's like a dream come true :D

I've been wanting to try and read this as it was featured on the web lately, but then I noticed it's serialised in a seinen magazine... Not that that has to mean anything, but I was also undecided because of the art (which I can only properly confirm when reading). But considering it's still in serialisation and there are drama CDs & good seiyuu, I think I'll wait until it's completed and watch the anime afterwards. In the case of ending up liking it, waiting for the rest would be too painful~ OTL
