According to the official website of Studio Khara, they found a man who had been posing as one of their animators, Honda Takeshi. The man used Honda's name and had been teaching at two art universities for eight years. The man was fired from the university last month.

The impostor claimed to his students that the real Honda Takeshi in Khara was one of his pupils, who was given the pseudonym by him.

Honda Takeshi is a famous animator from GAINAX and is called "Shishou (Master)" by other animators for his excellent art skill.

Honda's major works:
Ah! My Goddess (General Art Director)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Episode Director)
Millennium Actress (Character Designer, Art Director)
The Animatrix: Beyond (Character Designer, Art Director)
Rebuild of Evangelion: 1.0 (Mecha Art Director, Design Works)
Dennou Coil (co-General Art Director)

8 years and nobody noticed till now? wow, just wow... either the guy was good at hiding or it never came up at a dinner conversation that eventually reached the right ears

the real geniuses of this world always get scrutinized by society

its a conspiarcy, he's the real thing. Honda's police friends must have tortured him into admitting

What I'm wondering is how after eight years, they just found this out now.

Wow, that's quite impressive, 8 years...

But really, i don't think many students care about their teachers past/secrets.
That's why no one noticed, since ppl tend to give credit just by their position as teachers.
I really don't care about the past of my teachers, unless they don't teach well.
If they do a good job, and give me the knowledge i need, i don't bother knowing about their secrets.

That's why i think it took 8 years to ppl notice that.
The university haven't done well it's task of knowing the teachers' pasts...
So that guy may have done his job well in their place.

Both were wrong, so the guy was fired and the Art University gets the bad fame.
All students can now rest assured they're not being fooled and have a happy end.

Yep, that can do for an anime theme...
:P

I don't think it can be said enough; 8 years yo. That guy's awesome.

Now the real question is, why did they suddenly fire him?

lol ... ? Why do you think?

aside from the fact that its identity theft, this man really should be commended for his excellent skill in deception. either that, or [people] are just stupid.

I don't believe they didn't know it was an imposer. I mean, there must be some people at an arts university who actually know where an animator who is called 'master' looks like and where he's busy with. Or are people really that stupid? o_O

Now the real question is, why did they suddenly fire him?

I think this guy should be hired by the goverment as an undercover agent...

Go 8 years and noone notices and its someone who should be famous... -_- come on...

Maybe the guy was actually telling the truth, who knows?

I don't know how you misunderstood the story but there is only one "Honda Takeshi" who worked on Millennium Actress, Evangelion and so on. The impostor assumed Honda's history and deceived the university. The guy himself admitted that. That's why he was fired.

It took 8 years to find him? Maybe this guy really is "Shishou's Shishou" XD
