The editors of Kadokawa's light novel magazine "The Sneaker" apologized to Asai Labo for publishing his light novel "Saredo Tsumibito wa Ryuu to Odoru" without his permission. According to Asai's blog, there was a dispute between Kadokawa Shoten and him two years ago. He quit The Sneaker magazine and moved to Shougakukan's label GaGaGa Bunko. However, Kadokawa kept on publishing his novel even after the contract expired and refused to return the manuscripts to him.

The Sneaker is one of the most popular light novel magazines and publishes Suzumiya Haruhi Series and Rental Magica.
