| According to Sneaker Bunko, the release of Dantalian no Shoka OVA was canceled. It was supposed to be bundled with the ninth volume of the original novel, but the release of the novel itself was also canceled. Kadokawa didn't reveal the reason of the cancellation. Source: Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko Updated The novel author Mikumo Gakuto explained the reason of the cancellation is that there was a disagreement about the continuation of the novel series. The author and the editors had once reached an agreement to conclude the series by the eighth volume, but the editors suddenly asked the author to elongate the series to this Spring with nine volumes. The author turned down the proposal and the ninth volume was officially canceled. I'm finding Dantalian to be one of the best shows of Summer, and absolutely love the interplay between Huey and Dalian. In order of importance: Yuru Yuri, Usagi Drop, Natsume San, Idolmaster. Dantalian is riiight on the cusp... the only chance it has is if one of the others falls apart, but since three of the four are one cour I doubt I'm going to change my mind at this point (plus I already ordered them). I guess Idolmaster could still take a turn for the worse, but after the first few okayish episodes it has been nothing but perfect since, like, ep 4 or 5. I want to try to avoid importing 5 this season because I already am doing that for Spring (and two are 2 cour), and had 4 in Winter, and fall is going to be killer too... argh. Fall for me will be a break, only planning to watching 6 or 7 of the available anime. |

| Well the problem with Kujo was he was the Watson to her Sherlock. The problem was Watson was actually a genius doctor. That and he was the brawn to her brain. He shows he's capable in terms of endurance and skill, but he jobbed to people with more experience. It's not like he's incapable, but he's far from top tier. Meanwhile Hugh has an adult stature and a capable brain. |

It could but what they lose is incentive. The point of releasing an OAD with a manga or novel is to greatly boost the print volume's sales. If that print volume doesn't exist, it doesn't gain them much. The Dantalian anime is unfortunately looking to be one of the lowest selling of the season, so animating another episode for that when it's only going to sell to maybe two thousand hardcore fans per volume regardless is perhaps not worth the cost. I wonder why but with Idolm@ster and Utapri on the loom I can see why it doesn't sell even though most sales of vol 1 of Idolm@ster will be game sales like you stated before, but Vol 2 will outsell it by miles. The least preordered title is Nekogami (what a shame, it's actually refreshing)and Itsuka Tenma is second. |
