Japanese television broadcaster HTB (situated on the northern island of Hokkaido) has announced a new anime series for children starring their mascot on-chan (which debuted for the station on December 1, 1997).

The anime will be called Yume-miru Anime on-chan (Dreaming Anime on-chan), and will premiere January 18, 2008. The shorts will run for approximately 6 minutes, from 7:54am to 8:00am every Friday morning.

Voice actresses Rie Tanaka (Chii from Chobits, Lacus from Gundam Seed) and Hiromi Konno (Akira from Lucky Star will voice the characters on-chan and ok-chan (pink incarnation of on-chan), respectively. Keiji Hirai (Tetsu from The Gokusen) will also play as no-chan (black incarnation of on-chan).

On-chan has also previously starred in a feature-length anime film in 2003, titled on-chan Yume Power Dai-Boken (on-chan's Great Dream-Powered Adventure).
