TV Anime Series 'Nisekoi' to Start Jan 2014

From a promotional poster distributed to bookstores, it was revealed that the anime "Nisekoi", adapted from the manga of the same name, will start airing in January 2014. The manga is currently serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump and the anime is made by studio Shaft starring Uchiyama Kouki, Hanazawa Kana, and Touyama Nao in the main cast.

The poster also showed that volume 8 of the manga will be released on September 4th, while volume 9 will be released on November 1st and will have a special edition that will include a bundled drama CD.

I really enjoyed the manga so I really hope this ends up living up to expectations.

I'll probably enjoy it for the first few episodes then get bored. Mainly side the story completely stops developing developing after the harem is introduced :(

No lol, it's more like me wanting to hear Tomatsu's boyish voice on Chitoge :)

As long they aren't together it doesn't matter.. but it's ok even if they both voicing Raku & Chitoge (sorry for my naivete) xD

^ Character Design is Sugiyama Nobuhiro and he mainly works as animation director (NekoKuro, Nise, Denpa Onna, Hidamari 3 and a bit of Bake) though he also worked as character design (and animation director) in "ef" .

Ahh finally! I'm looking forward to this since I like the manga. I just hope the adaptation will be as fun as the manga is.

Massive raging Shaft fanboy selectivity basically and I guess a strong desire to hear specific voice actors even though they're honestly pretty much ones that are already popular and in a lot of shows anyway. The usual stuff really....

Like I said I miss when people took interest in an actual show and didn't just base how they think it'll be and how they react to it on what studio is doing the animation production. Almost everyone I've heard actually talk about the source has said it's a pretty weak one so that to me means a hell of a lot more in generating or deflecting interest from a project than some fanboy favorite studio being in charge of animating it.

But the manga itself has been more popular than what it deserves to be, in the latest jump rankings it's ranked #6, higher than Naruto. Despite it not having a good chapter in a long time. Double Arts, by the same mangaka, was dead by chapter 23 despite being a much more original and interesting series. So I am not sure how the series became so popular.
